    Boosting economy

Since economy has crashed due to high house prices and nobody able to sell house furnishing due to almost housing non-existence across servers.

Couple ideas to help boost the economy.

1-make all Token gears and raid/dungeon gears meldable, this will increase the demands for materias, since everyone is constantly getting new piece, thus will meld them.

2-Add some BiS crafting recipes, where each recipe requires rare crafting materials only found in Coil or future end-game raids. So, people can sell these mats for crafters as well as crafters making BiS items and selling them.

3-Lower the house land plots, to allow productions and sales of furnishing as it will be a huge portion of the economy. This will also restore the economy elsewhere as people will not be hording up Gil to save up for the house and their future personal house as it's assumed that SE will do the similar thing of releasing personal housing for ridiculous high price.

4-Restore the drop rates for crafting mats that dropped from mobs back to pre-2.1 for this was also part of the economy as it is known that time is money. People are lazy to farm their own mats so they would buy the mats. But now it's so easy to get what they need that they don't need to buy their own mats anymore.

5-Find some way to fix the issue where people sell HQ items for the same price or less than NQ prices. It's really stupid and almost most likely Gil farmers that are doing this. It takes time to make HQ items and yet it forces others out of selling stuff because nobody wants to spend hours making HQ items that makes little profits.

If you haven't noticed, I would recommend looking in to the fact that many FC's are waiting for prices to drop on lots not because they can't afford it, its because its just logically smarter to wait then to dump gil needlessly.

Also, gil generation has increased significantly. We are starting to see more gil enter the market. It will vary from server to server and depending on how many diligent people are farming the new gil generation methods ,a lot of gil can appear within the next couple weeks.

So we see gil generation and continual price drops in FC housing. Although the market had a massive release of goods dropping the prices on all goods in the scramble for the available amount of gil circulating the market prior to 2.1 and shortly after 2.1, the market will slowly adjust to the new amount of gil entering the market. Prior to 2.1 and a couple days after we had a limited amount of gil in circulation but now we are seeing more and more gil enter the circulation and at the same time we are seeing prices drop on the lots everyday.

As prices adjust to the increasing amount of gil, players will be able to buy lots eventually, especially since lots are continuing to drop in prices. As soon as players start buying houses, they will start releasing the extra whored gil for materials and furnishings starting a snowball affect.

We don't necessarily need any new methods in fixing the market. The market itself will adjust accordingly in the following weeks but like I stated earlier, it will be dependent on the server population's motivation to farm the new gil generation methods to start the initiation of the snowball effect. This is why Mr. Yoshida is not budging on dropping prices. When this snowball affects starts will be based on your community.

Also the idea of giving crafters BIS has been discussed many times. The fact that you can craft BIS, draws players away from progression. People will just sit around and wait for mats to flood into the market to buy BIS items. In a short summary, we want a majority of the community to progress thru most of the current content so we can actually get or deserve new content. It is illogical to progress the story of our characters if only 5% of the entire community has only done the current content. This is why the BIS model for crafters were removed in many MMOs after WoW gave BIS items to crafters for one of their expansions. We put use on crafters but we draw players away from progression which is not a good thing overall.

As Xystic said, Yoshi screwed the pooch on all grounds.

    1. Sky high prices accomplished little more than pissing people off or scaring them sh*tless into hoarding gil
    2. The gil hoarding craze has housing hopefuls humping and dumping everything and anything that they get their hands on, causing our immediate market crisis that will continue until the 'craze' is remedied
    3. FC's that comfortably house enough funds aren't going to take the bait, and will wait patiently until the prices fall to reasonable levels, failing the objective of bleeding off 'old gil' out of the system after having already played out their robbing/converting/banning cards.
    4. FC's that CAN afford housing are already just leeching gil out of the system and virtually never put gil back into the system. The furniture market is a trap. FC's that can afford a home likely possess several omnicrafters that can resource/build everything they need. They don't need a market.

Prices for the next several months will 'normalize' at extremely deflated rates right now, and will stay that way until most FC's get both their FC housing as well as personal housing (which has people scared sh*tless).

I'm ready to jump ship as it is. Grind Fantasy XIV just turned into Super Grind Fantasy, and I want no part of it.

Yes, you make a good point Zourin. A game needs to have a good economy to survive. If economy crash to the point that people can't make decent currency, then the game is heading to a slow death where people will look for another game that they can enjoy playing and be able to make some decent income. Crafting and selling stuff is part of the fun to the game, take that away and you just get a mindless grind for gears while some unobtainable objects are beyond reach due to insanely high priced. Honestly, if SE was all that concerned about the amassed Gil, they should have removed it all from the game right at launch and start fresh so everyone is on equal footing. This wouldn't be happening if SE done the right thing instead of allowing Legacy worlds to retain their currency and done a better job on cracking down on RMTs because there have been so many complaints about reports not being looked into, as people witness the same botters in the game after months. Even I myself still see the same mail-in-between bot that I've reported numerous time. I've lost all faith in putting in reports to SE because SE fails horribly at this.

Well, that was quite annoying, in my mind, it seems every gil-plotting machine I discovered in the first, then got leaked in some Youtube-Clip till everybody overfarmed it (so i just keep my mouth shut, cause what i do by now get´s me not a millionaire, but a decent income)...

Through it´s population, Shiva´s Market also is way-down to the abyss, but our All-50 Crafter does 300k in a Hour of crafting, so instead of making easy money in selling this potash and stuff, you can fraft something out of it and put it on the board.
It´s not that big salary as weeks/months ago, but still the best way to get at least something done...

Whoa Nice, buy everything´s up and resell it for more... ^^

seriously, not long time ago, i bought cinnamon from the NPC 3 Steps next to the Marketboard.

bought for 4 Gil - sold for 20.

Philo-Items will always have a market, so if someone put´s it up for 12 Gil, immedeatly i would buy of the full stock and put it out again for a correct price.

Well - this must not be the best way for anybody, but what worked for me since the patch was the time i did my 3rd Job WHM for 50.

    - Doing Duty Roulette
    - Low-Level and Guildjob (?) whit my WHM -> some Gil, and a good Bonus on EXP for the Low-Level.
    - High-Level and Story - Doing this with my Tank, get´s instant invite and most time a 750Gil Bonus each - while I admit, most time ignored the High-Level cause new Dungeons as Haukke, etc are mostly annoying with Randoms...
    > Story get´s you ~300 Philos which you can buy and sell Items for - like mentioned before, not for huge Gils, but still better than Capping the Philos and dont get anything about it.

    - Daily Tribe Quests
while annoying to repeadatly doing the same Quest, it´s also a good income, and fills in the Gap while signed up on Duty Finder*. Also get´s you Chards for crafting, which saves you money for not buying them - or - time for not gathering them.
*actually doing a Bard, and waiting Time as DD is annyoing - nothing i missed while I was PLD or WHM.

    - Treasure Chests (when you have a gatherer with proper level)
    - also a everyday gap filler

This daily schedule get´s my expenses in crafting and repairs done, while steadily increasing my Wallet and never touched my Helpers Gil-Resort since Patch 2.1

Never a mind was changed on an internet board, no matter how good your arguments are...

Philosophy items tanked in price because they got easier to obtain. Logically, why would one pay over 10K for Potash when you can easily do some Daily Roulettes and get the stuff yourself?
