Armory System Change; How To See Average ILevel On Everything At A Glance

I apologize if there's already a thread on this. I didn't see one.

I'm sure some of you have noticed that when upgrading your weapon since 2.1 that your level in the Armory System was not being updated when you saved the gear set. This is because SE changed the gear set system. You can continue to save to the old set and gear switching will work just fine, but it will no longer update the level.

To switch over to SE's new system, this is what you need to do. Equip one of your gear sets. Now, either right click or use Square and select Delete Set. Don't worry, it's not permanent. Now immediately go up to the + button and create a new gear set.

You'll notice that instead of your level reflecting the ilevel of your weapon, it now reflects your average ilevel on that job. Once you do this for all your jobs/classes, you'll be able to see the ilevel on everything at a glance just by opening the gear set window.

Except that it cuts it off displaying as, "BLM (Item Lv...." etc. Dragging it to a macro bar will show the full level in the tool tip when you hover your mouse over it, however. It's possible this may only occur with double digit levels. I don't have any sets with single digit ilevels.

Somewhat related... the gathering log does this truncation error now too. Locations of nodes with double digit levels display as, "Lv.... Sorrel Haven" for example. Single digit nodes show correctly. E.g. "Lv. 5 Spineless Basin"

The only one of mine that's cut off is WHM. No idea why. The rest are all double digit and read fine.

EDIT: Just edited WHM and now you it's completely readable. Took out the space between the "M" and "(".

I don't really understand this. My item level displays just fine. Unless you are talking about the *name* of your saved set. In which case, you can just right click it and rename it to whatever you want. I never keep the default names personally. I rename all of them to "Summoner" "Scholar" "Fisher" "White Mage" etc. No nonsense. When I upgrade from a Class to a Job, I rename that too. My "Conjurer" save is changed to "White Mage".

It's possible its a resolution difference that causes it to be truncated for some people. I run in 1600x900, so if you're at 1920x1080 for example then you might get less truncation. Editing the name is only a partial solution, because it won't auto-update when you change the gear set.

Yes, they are talking about the name of the saved set so that when you open it up you can see all your ilevels at a glance. Editing the name in the way you have done, which serves a different purpose and is a perfectly fine way to do it, defeats that purpose the OP was talking about.

Wasn't aware of that. Will test it when I get back on.
