I have to agree with the Op! Gear and rehased fights aren't content! MMO's now a days need a vast amount of sub content (mix and match content) for everyone!
Doing Hardmodes and grinding for gear gets tiresome, Been there done that in FFXI and WoW!

I am not out of content because I kept getting sidetracked with my PVP and bard leveling. I imagine in the next week or two I will be at the point where I have downed all of the stuff except for Coil--because I don't do dedicated raiding anymore--but in the meantime, I have some stuff yet to do. If people want to log on all day every day and burn through all the things once and say it's done, then I suppose they will be a bit frustrated. Something tells me, however, that they could have released 100 primals, 20 hard mode dungeons, 15 new raids, and 10 new classes last week, and you'd just be on here after the new year complaining.
Go outside or something.
I'm still stuck on the content. Soooo much waiting and everyone is still doing the old content.
I waited over an hour for Thornmarch and people left after 5 minutes. So i'm sorted for content :P
A few things worth considering...Unlocking Moogle - 90% fet- filler quests with no content, do 3 low level instances because we're out of ideas. 2 hours at most assuming you get into the instances right away.
Copperbell - 1 hour.
Haukke - 1 hour.
Pharos Sirius - 1 hour.
Crystal Tower - 1 hour to unlock, 90 minutes to run.
Hildibrand - 1 hour, mostly filler.
That's around 6-7 hours of content.
The primals (including Ultima) are the only things that may take a while, and the length that takes depends on the motivation/skill of your group.
This is certainly not a lot of content for a major patch.
This patch is mainly intended to fill the gap from fresh lv50 content up to Coil, or rather, it's got all the stuff that was meant to be on the initial release of the game. To anyone who has been doing Coil from the first month this game came out the patch probably wont feel like much, but for anyone new to the game, lv50 just became a lot more fun and vibrant. It's a huge step up from the old run WP 10 times and be done for the week. Leveling alt classes has also become a lot better now, but I guess someone who power-leveled everything in 1.0 wouldn't appreciate that.
The average full price game these days don't even last 10 hours. 7 hours of content is not bad for a patch update, and this is ignoring primals. Which would raise the point that not everyone has an FC of hardcore players who are down to kill all the new primals within the first few days of the patch. In fact most don't, and it's close to impossible to find a good enough pug for Titan Ex. Weeks will be spent for those guys to get that titan kill down. And with all that said, you also have to realize that doing something once and then considering yourself done with it is not really how MMO content works. I'd question how you got to Coil if that's how you think the game is played.
Oh, and hardcore players are always going to run out of content quickly. That is simply how MMOs are. If you're the type to blast through content as soon as it's out, I suggest playing some other games too on the side.
I don't think 2.1 is perfect by any means, but lack of content is absolutely not among the issues it has. It seems to me like you just missed the whole point of this patch.

plus, monthly subscription is 14 dollars a month, it took you at least a day to finish everything that 2.1 brought. You pay 15 dollars (at least where I live at) for a "3D" movie at the movies that lasts 1:30 hrs. Your money is still well spent. I feel like this is more of a "I'm a badass, I finished the hardest parts of this patch really really fast" than anything else.
lolarena is a terrible MMO PvP format. I bet they thought they could get in on the e-sport business, but with 500k or fewer subs they'll never reach e-sport status in the first place.
wait, so you're telling me you got all achievements, have a full friend list, a full fc, a fully bought and decorated mansion, rank 50 in PvP with top gear, maxed beast tribe relationship, all gear drops from the EX battles, all Mog and Allagan weapons for all of your classes and most of the server knows you??
whew I'm impressed ^^;
MMO's just aren't made for hardcore gamers anymore. If you play 10 hours a day for months and months, you're going to run out of content. It's just the way it is. If you play 3 or 4 days a week in 3-5 hour sessions, then new content will come out before you have time to complete all of the older stuff. This is how I play and I still have a ton of stuff to do.
I was referring to the major expansions on content - Next update (3 months minimum for now) is a Coil update, then after that (another 3 months) is a Crystal Tower update since we know those two raids are supposed to be updated alternatively. The only thing we don't know is what other content is coming with it, but the way Yoshi stated patch size is that it's basically supposed to last us until the next major update.
The way it goes is, even if you play at a slow pace you'll definitely be through with the content long before the next update unless you've yet to touch certain ones - much like you stated you haven't touched coil yet.
I think people who say "You're in the minority" must either play only 1 hour a day and simply can't do any content or not realize that people who are extremely active, especially with an active FC, would go through content at a steady pace. This is why developers add lockouts, because they know people will blow through content, not just one group of people, everyone will unless they add limits - A lot of the content they added in 2.1 took almost no work to unlock with the exception of FATEs, which, by the way, the "hardcore" people weren't complaining about, it was everyone complaining about it.
