2.1 gave us a large amount of content for being a patch not an expansion pack.

Well your the minority, Maybe it's time for you to switch to a MMO that has 3 + years of content before playing a new MMO, It may help keep your interest more.
As for myself, I've had the week off and still haven't done much of the new content.
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!

I have to agree with the Op! Gear and rehased fights aren't content! MMO's now a days need a vast amount of sub content (mix and match content) for everyone!
Doing Hardmodes and grinding for gear gets tiresome, Been there done that in FFXI and WoW!

I am not out of content because I kept getting sidetracked with my PVP and bard leveling. I imagine in the next week or two I will be at the point where I have downed all of the stuff except for Coil--because I don't do dedicated raiding anymore--but in the meantime, I have some stuff yet to do. If people want to log on all day every day and burn through all the things once and say it's done, then I suppose they will be a bit frustrated. Something tells me, however, that they could have released 100 primals, 20 hard mode dungeons, 15 new raids, and 10 new classes last week, and you'd just be on here after the new year complaining.
Go outside or something.
I'm still stuck on the content. Soooo much waiting and everyone is still doing the old content.
I waited over an hour for Thornmarch and people left after 5 minutes. So i'm sorted for content :P

wait, so you're telling me you got all achievements, have a full friend list, a full fc, a fully bought and decorated mansion, rank 50 in PvP with top gear, maxed beast tribe relationship, all gear drops from the EX battles, all Mog and Allagan weapons for all of your classes and most of the server knows you??
whew I'm impressed ^^;
MMO's just aren't made for hardcore gamers anymore. If you play 10 hours a day for months and months, you're going to run out of content. It's just the way it is. If you play 3 or 4 days a week in 3-5 hour sessions, then new content will come out before you have time to complete all of the older stuff. This is how I play and I still have a ton of stuff to do.

I've not even touched Coil, let alone the dungeons released in 2.1 or the Good King or, well, pretty much any of it. It's weird... the less I try to rush through things, the more I have to do.
Usain Bolt doesn't go around complaining that he's doing the same old races every time he goes to a tournament. When you have no further left to go, you can only aim to better yourself and those around you and intend to be the best you can be.
EDIT: Perhaps you could even join a new F.C. and try to teach people brand new to the game how to better themselves in a nice, kind, gentle way and nurture them into wonderful players? Hopefully you can lift your own spirits at the same time as helping them, by enjoyin an MMO for it's number one feature: The ability to play with all kinds of people.

Exactly - Coil, for example, has been out since launch and if people chose not to touch it, that was their choice, however you can't necessarily say people "rushed" after almost 5 months just because they went through the storyline (doesn't take that long unless queues kicks your butt), got a relic for at least their main (this is also only a couple hours of work unless you get stuck on Titan) or go back and farm stuff for vanity later basically.
It's hard to really consider something "rushing" if you choose to do content available to you when you can, because Labyrinth of the Ancients? Yeah, people cleared it as soon as they got access and once SE made FATES spawn quicker, more and more people cleared through it - The content added in 2.1 isn't so expansive and complex that it constantly changes each time you go in (basically additional routes continue to open up) unless you take the players you're with into consideration. Once you beat Moogle, LoTA, Pharos Sirius, HM Haukke/Copperbell, Ultima and Extreme Primals, you've cleared those contents.
What the misconception seems to be, is that you're going back to it to farm the gear they added but LotA and Extreme Primals has a weekly lockout on gear acquisition, which as we know is basically gating to keep people from completely farming it.
