What would you want SE to add?2.1 Offered:
1. Quests you can do once a day.
2. Treasure hunting you can do once every 18 hours (as they more than likely intended) or more if you blow gil on it
3. Rehashed Primals, weekly lockout on loot.
4. Hard Mode Dungeons and Pharos
5. Labyrinth of Ancients - Weekly lockout on loot.
6. Ultima Hard.
7. Housing.
8. Reintroduction of Moogle Primal fight.
9. Expansion of Main Storyline.
Now, out of all of that, how is that supposed to last 3-6 months...? Housing being the exception, you don't need to spend "every waking moment" to be done with 2.1, even the most casual person cleared most of 2.1's content at least once by now unless they play only an hour a day and doesn't seriously pursue content. (Read: Actually care to do content.)
What Tupsi says is correct on what 2.1 has to offer. However, personally for me I still haven't even touched Coil yet nor got my ilvl90 gear, so in the end I have plenty to do and will last me will 2.2.
What she is wrong about that 2.2 lasting a max of 6 months. I understand Patches get delayed, but never for that long past it's projected due date. 3-4 months is a better time frame.
I was referring to the major expansions on content - Next update (3 months minimum for now) is a Coil update, then after that (another 3 months) is a Crystal Tower update since we know those two raids are supposed to be updated alternatively. The only thing we don't know is what other content is coming with it, but the way Yoshi stated patch size is that it's basically supposed to last us until the next major update.
The way it goes is, even if you play at a slow pace you'll definitely be through with the content long before the next update unless you've yet to touch certain ones - much like you stated you haven't touched coil yet.
I think people who say "You're in the minority" must either play only 1 hour a day and simply can't do any content or not realize that people who are extremely active, especially with an active FC, would go through content at a steady pace. This is why developers add lockouts, because they know people will blow through content, not just one group of people, everyone will unless they add limits - A lot of the content they added in 2.1 took almost no work to unlock with the exception of FATEs, which, by the way, the "hardcore" people weren't complaining about, it was everyone complaining about it.

You can't really compare the content of a game that's been out for four months to games that have been out for almost ten years.
Everybody compares the level of endgame content from any new MMO to World of Warcraft, and it will always, inevitably come up lacking. WoW has had nearly a decade to build content up. It has an absolutely astonishing budget behind it to build content with. Of course it has more content than a game that's four months old and being built on a shoestring budget.
(Yes, this game is four months old. It is a totally different game than 1.0.)
Yes, you cannot compare the content of FF14 and WoW at face value because of the life span difference. But what of the content per patch?
For example in a single patch WoW was able to release gigantic raids such as ICC and Ulduar each with multiple raid wings, with each raid wing having as much bosses as the whole of Coil. And that is not to mention each boss had a hard mode that changed the fight completely. And you can't even say quality over quantity as well since Mimiron firefighter alone was more complex and challenging than anything in this game.
So far FF14 seems to be releasing content that is on par with Trial of the Crusader raids. The 5 boss fights in a room was generally regarded as the laziest of Blizzard patches, something that seems like the norm here.
WoW has a subscriber base that is far, far larger than XIV's, and the budget to match it. Moreover, it also is very much a "routine" at this point for Blizzard's developers; they've had huge, huge amounts of experience cranking out content, and have it down to a science. FFXIV is still finding its footing.Yes, you cannot compare the content of FF14 and WoW at face value because of the life span difference. But what of the content per patch?

I try not to mindlessly defend SE as a general rule, given that the game does have several issues that need resolving, but this is not one of them. Comparing FFXIV to WoW in virtually any capacity is ridiculously foolish. It's worse than apples to oranges.
Finally, @OP - if you're playing enough to have full Darklight for all jobs, Relics for every class, level 50-all, etc. etc., then you're going to have a hard time finding any new MMO that will occupy you. Picking up a title that's a couple years old or more will prove to be a far better choice. There's not a development team in the world that can create content as quickly as you can play through it if you're spending that much time online.
I'm having a blast, plenty to do but then again I only play about 3 hours a day. Sounds like the original poster if this threat needs to play some others games, go to gym, get a girlfriend or just do some other things if they are bored.
3 hours a day and I'm not bored at all but I also do other stuff
Just saying lol
Need to get outta the basement bro, have some eggnog, turkey, ham etc.. it's the holidays

Checked your character. You don't represent in any way the majority of the playerbase. Maybe you shouldn't have grinded your eyes out before and you should have taken it easier. Too bad for you, but those that have every single class at 50 and full allagan gear for all of them are irrelevant to gauge the content of a patch.
Mind you, I'm quite sure you didn't max your PvP level, so your post makes a false point.
