Everyone on this server has been incredibly nice to me, outside of a very few rude people. But every server has rude people. Not sure if you are using party finder or shout parties...but... Balmung is notorious for having the games worst/most unfriendly players.
If you or anyone is tired of your shit server...I suggest Hyperion! We have everything...Uber FCs that clear content the day it's released...we have total newbs...and mostly we have players that enjoy helping each other.

I've been playing this game since 1.0's beta and found Balmung to be the nicest community I've ever played on in any MMO, ever. Balmung's community actually kept me playing in 1.0 when the game was very limited and bugged out with no content. The community has changed somewhat since 2.0's release but there are rude people everywhere. We're not that bad.Not sure if you are using party finder or shout parties...but... Balmung is notorious for having the games worst/most unfriendly players.

It's not a great situation when people go into Duty Finder thinking they might be castrated for there gear or the possible mistake that may happen. Sadly it's the internet with a bunch of hypocrites treating others badly over being less geared and mistakes. When role reversal I'm sure if they were new to something like a job and messed up they would want the benefit of the doubt. Now if people are being insolent, not communicating and Leeroying than it's understandable to say something.

I was part of a Roulette CM speedrun before maintenance. Took us like 20 mins and we all knew no one was first time and wanted to go ASAP. It was fun. Racing the downtime was good challenge. Reaction from party was good in the end. In these cases, no worries but expecting good performance for the first time in anything is wrong. That's a talent. Like others have said, use the chat and PF to organize your specific needs, it's better for everyone.

My worst encounter in XIV so far is healing a low level group that had a new tank in it, he wasn't doing so well and the DPS were giving him a bit of grief. I stood up for him and started giving him advice about class mechanics while we were running and everything seemed to be going fine, but on the final boss we ran into some issues and all 3 immediately turned on me and started harassing me about how I was such a poor healer etc. I was shocked, not only had I stuck up for the tank, given him advice and did a damn fine job at healing, I had also quelled the rage from the DPS and helped to make it a good run up until that point.
Unfortunately, that is the current mentality in gaming. I find it's not worth my time trying to help most groups anymore, if I find a group that struggles or doesn't get along I wish them luck and drop out.
Fake elitism runs wild in this new gen of mmos since everyone can get geared easy and think they are good players.
