    Square has confirmed the pricing of personal housing as "cheaper and more useful" about as much they 'confirmed' the guild-hall pricing as being around the amount that handful of players would save on their way to 50.

    We all saw how that panned out when the content was actually released, yes?

    Well the good old saying has been said already, something is only worth the price someone is willing to pay for it? Maybe 2 million gil is outrageous?

    How do you think I felt after farming the horn, feather and heart from the HM primals. They are almost completely worthless now after patch. I sure as heck am not gonna waste my time farming the EX's for the newer drops.

    Until the game has personal housing there will be no profit in furniture making. Any FC with the funds to buy a plot almost certainly has enough crafters in their ranks to manage to make everything at material cost.

    They said that during BETA when they had no idea the state of the Economy. Plans change. And yes, if 4-5 Level 50s pool 90 days of hard work together they should be able to buy a house. You don't NEED a House. It's Vanity Content. I personally will continue to donate to my FC meanwhile also saving up so that in 2.3 I can purchase my own personal house in the Personal Housing Areas.

    Unless there's something I've missed, your options are;

    Help your FC buy a house.

    Buy gear for your alts to skip the darklight process.

    Money doesn't matter in this game.
    Bolded for truth and justice. I'm on Balmung, my FC isn't affording a house for a very very long time, I have 1 million gil. I stopped crafting, what's the point? To make money to have money? There is nothing to buy with the gil I am making.

    It's not like it was in 11, farming for my Scorpion harness as my Ninja got close to 57, farming for my hauby as my war got close to 59. Camping/farming for my ebow as my ranger. There are no elite items that the player base can purchase/farm to make gil actually worth having. I am not saying I want ffxi but at least there were items that were expensive, best in slot, and gave you an incentive to make gil to get them.

    You check the market price and it was 1.5 million but you saw tons of them at 1.5 mllion not selling. That means, that isn't the market price for them. The market price is going to be what the demand and supply for it is at. So if people are steadily buying them at 1.5 million, then that is the market price. If people aren't buying them at 1.5 million anymore and they are piling on the market board, then that is not the current market price for them anymore.

    Your saying its a terrible economy but you are having a hard time understanding how markets themselves work....hmph...

    This is why the 1.0 armor/materia system was better. You could make generally cheap crafted material extremely powerful if you were willing to put the money in for melds. My blm was outdamaging stardust rods (back when they were cool) with quad melded gear and a lightning brand, but i easily put 25mil into getting the gear.. This way crafting was worth it (because breaking items failing meld meant more crafted armor were being sold), spirit bonding was pretty profitable, materia sold like crazy,and making large amounts of gil had a purpose.

    Unless personal housing has benefits, I don't plan to buy personal housing at all. Especially if guild houses will possibly have personal rooms.

    She said that a first class small house didnt cost even half of what the OP said (100m).
    I just showed her that it does.
