TC is right. The ilevel requirements are too low. Everything should be about 5 levels higher.

You can't really overgear stuff in this game. T5 and Extreme primal still require proper execution even with everyone in full 90 gear. You get a little more room to make mistakes in 90 gear but not much at all. Its not like other mmos where when you overgear something it just because so easy there is very little chance to lose.
For example, if a healer stands near everyone with the bomb on Ifrit EX they are going to wipe everyone no matter what gear level people have.
You kill the spiny plume early on Garuda EX you will die to astral flow or mistrals song no matter gear level.
You don't stand in the proper position for upheaveal or landslides on Titan you are dead no matter your gear level.

How is it overgearing? That's taking for granted that the ilevels listed is what you're actually supposed to run in, and not a hard lock on people who have no business being there. This is content made with the current end-game players in mind and it's clear SE tuned it to the sort of gear they're packing, the ilevel requirement is clearly not what the fight is tuned for just what is theoretically possible.
Mechanics wise the fight does not change at all even with everyone between 80-90, this isn't a game where you can gear stomp so cut it out with that nonsense. If you see someone complaining about the game being too easy feel free to chew them out but most people i know, people who actually do the hardest content, are quite happy with the challenges in this game and if you think they're cheapening it in their i90 gear then do what I said before. Put up with a video of yourself and 7 others at the minimum or you're all talk.
I actually, earnestly believe it's probably possible and would like to see someone do it. They would have my respect, but not people who can't do it but tell others to.
Could honestly be done on purpose to give those who want a challenge more of a challenge. Though if that is the case they may want to add two ilevels to it, the "challenging one" where it's 5 under what they beat it at and of course the "recommended one" which is the ilevel they beat it at.
Reminds me of Titan HM when I keep telling these dfers that their gear isn't good enough and they won't believe me. Told me the fight was about skill rather than gear and yet none of them every made it pass heart phase. Some even die in phase 1.
To be fair they're partly right except for the heart and surviving phase 5. Most likely the less geared people are also less experienced with the fight (which is the only explanation of phase 1)
One problem with that.....if you have ilvl 85 you don't need crap from extremes except on your alts so why even bother? SE really needs some reward in this game there is actually decent challenges in the game but have no incentive to do it because the rewards are garbage there is very little difference right now between someone that has cleared everything and someone who has just got their max myth every week.
As for the OP this is a pointless thread because the only way that gearscore matters is if you are doing extreme mode in the duty finder. And if you are that is your real problem not the gearscore itself.
Player skill can also help lower your need for the highest ilvl.
Problem is, with the majority of boss fights, there are more DPS/healing/survivability checks than the actual skill requirement.
Titan HM is destroying DF groups because a double tank setup is going to have a hard time dishing out enough damage to meet the check on heart phase without auto-attacking for LB3 in phase one which is incredibly stupid, and even if they LB3 the heart, there's always the problem of tumult stacking which becomes mathematically impossible to heal through later on if your overall DPS is low enough.
"Grind more gear while we come up with more restrictive lockouts" is the universal solution to everything, and frankly, it's far from "fun".
