Post 2.1 Ways to make Gil ?

I don't know about you guys, but the economy on my server has crashed hard. Prior to 2.1, I could make 100-300k in a few hours if I tried on a good day. Now i struggle to 50k a day. Part of me dies when I fully stock my Retainer with things to sell before going to bed only to wake up and find 0gil waiting for me and prices of what I was selling undercut by several hundreds to thousands.

Everything that use to be profitable has went down the drain. Fleece went from 200-300to about 50each, Same goes for Diremite Webs , Materia IV-III prices went from 50k-100k+ to average 10k or less. Tomes are dirt cheap, Crystals are in the single digits, and even prices for 2star Crafted gear have drop severly.

Before you guys say "Level a Crafting or DOL Class" I'd like to say I have GSM, CUL, CRP, ALC 50. My main source of income before were GSM, CUL, and my Miner but now I barely break even. With the market becoming more volatile, things are barely moving out of my retainer.

Has anyone found good ways to make gil from the system ? I say System because most people wont share thier secrets of making gil from players. And even if they did, posting it on here will surely boost their competition. I really wish SE implemented more ways to earn money from the game instead of other players.

Housing prices upwards of half a billion Gil has left people feeling poor. Before the housing, people were comfortable spending Gil and just playing the game. Now it's horde, baby horde.

The methods you are talking about are the ones I look for as well. Faucets where Gil comes from 'nothing' and is generated. The faucets in the game are in hard core lock down, they have been since ARR launched. They trickle in little puddles with 50 gil mob drops in DF queue restricted dungeons, hidden behind logistical nightmares like 1 star furniture. Where you need thousands of shard on top of crystals to make components to make components to make 10-20K Gil. There is no vendor loot. It's all 1 Gil wonders. The entire 400 levels of crafting net you less than a million Gil, even if you take all Gil rewards and Leve the classes.

    One word. Stingy.

The only thing I've notice that is selling for more than spit are mostly leve items. Even those aren't selling as well as they used to, since a lot of people are already at 50. You might also want to shop around for what equipment is selling (leve or otherwise). When I find something that sells for decent, I usually make a couple, but not enough that I'd get stuck with it. Whenever you find an opportunity, the undercutters are never far behind.

Some of SE decision makes me wonder. Make housing cost millions but implement changes so that the most profitable items become worthless. That makes so much sense....

    It would be nice if:

    1. You could sell items to vendors for more than one gil.

    2. Beastmen mobs dropped gil, or allagan gil bags

    3. If Dungeon gil scaled according to level... It was a nice step in the right direction to add gil to dungeons, but getting 2k from a 45min (AK) dungeon is almost useless. 2k might have been nice when i was level 10, but at 50 thats barely enough to pay for the repairs and a teleport.

The reason over world mobs don't drop Gil is the static nature of spawns.

This game is a botters delight.

As for all 1 gil mats, see above. For a full 50 character, getting mats at 50 is identical to getting mats at 5. Run in a circle and mash insert.
    A Botters dream come true.

Yeah this is a shame, crushed the value of gathered mats. If they had just kept the system from 1.0 or something similar where you actually couldn't just click-grab the exact item you want w/ near 100% accuracy there might actually still be some value. Oh, and of course making the purchase of any gear completely pointless didn't help.

Food and Pots are about the only place where you will see continual sales, i70 crafted accessories too I suppose. Now that food doesn't wear on death you will see more and more people willing to use it for content. Pots I expect will still be rather niche, other than ethers maybe, since a few second stat buff isn't enough to make most part with their gil.

Sadly, without a revamp of the gathering system, and making a change to what drops in dungeons (removing most, if not all of the gear, and having instead rare mat drops for crafting that gear) there isn't likely to ever be a bounce back for the markets. At least not until a level cap increase, assuming it doesn't take 2 hours to recap and start getting dungeon drops that are again better than anything crafted.

Aye, in my opinion Gathering to sell has significantly been crushed. This will definitely be for people who have zero desire to craft. Not because gathering is really all that profitable but because its really the only thing. Midgard I think (please correct me if i'm wrong) is one of the stronger servers having the most gil in the economy and even our economy has seriously tanked.

2star gear has dropped in price by almost a 1/3. You can buy most 2star for around 100k. All Philo mats are going for 5000 or less. Crafting mob kill mats like Fleece and Snurble's are down to 50-80. Even most PVP gear is around 5-9k each.

I honestly don't know where the niche is anymore. I used to make 100-200k a day selling random crating gear, 1s/2s gear now i'm lucky to make 50-60.

I'm sure others are still making a killing but it aint me lol.

There are still a few ways to farm gil.

The obvious methods have all been flooded at the current time though. The demand is not high enough for the flood so there is fierce competition for the few consumers.

Eventually housing will be a good place ot make money but as there are not very many people buying housing due to the pricing requiring your left nut, right leg and first/second born....not much of a demand for housing items.

There will never be a demand for housing items. Any FC that can afford a house will have crafters who can make everything themselves.
