The story dungeons which are heavily loaded with cutscenes are also heavily farmed for tomes, so as in my case , many new level 50's are dragged through the ending of the epic tale with hardly a clue whats happening because some with nearly full gear are farming the bloody dungeon.

I personally havent even seen the 1st boss in that dungeon as I was in the cutscene when the group ran past the 1st set of mobs... meaning I couldnt get past them as a healer.
I sat at the start of my story run of the dungeon waiting for the shortcut to appear... I dont even know what the 1 st boss is in CM , I never saw it but I past the quest.

only reason people do them after the first time is to farm tomestones otherwise no one will do them.

They do for the Duty Roulette. You get 300 every day from running 1 of them from that. Every time I do it everyone is in speed-run mode. Luckily, though, we've never had newcomers for some reason so they never got shafted.

While you can watch them in the inn, being forced to skip cutscenes is douche-y. Only thing I can say is to inform everyone at the start that you're new and you want to watch the cutscenes. If they don't like it they can leave. You're bound to find, at the very least, 1 nice person in an 8-man group.

If ever you want to play back the cutscenes you missed, you can look them up in the Instances Tab in the Unending Journey book in one of the Inn Rooms.

However, that's a sorry consolation for someone who's wanting the immersion of a first-time story run-through of dungeons. Honestly, they should shield each cut-scene like they do the intro to trials and dungeons. Once cut-scene hits, everyone's shielded and waiting until everyone is done with the cut-scene. This way, first-timer's experiences aren't ruined by those who are greedily speed-running dungeons for Tomes. If you're doing CM/Pre, you can at least be considerate enough to wait for people to do their cut-scenes for the first time.

And those using the Roulette really have no excuse, they get a bonus 200 tomes for their trouble.

Exactly, the cutscenes in the Praetorium particularly lose a certain something when viewed through the Unending Journey, as the cutscenes show the whole party there backing the player up (who as far as the story is concerned, is leading them as 'an elite adventurer unit' on the assault into the fortress (like

when the party first jumps off the Enterprise right at the start, or the scene after Lahabrea uses Ultima and the party prepares to fight Ultima Weapon a second time

) - viewing the same scenes at the Inn all you see is your character and an empty background behind them.

Although I can understand after running the same dungeon over and over again players will get bored with seeing the same scenes, but, forcing a first time player to skip cutscenes in a DF party, is definitely not on. Luckily the parties I did my first CM/Prae run with were nice enough to let me watch the cutscenes, so not everyone are douchebags about it.

I usually don't mind people watching cutscenes, but the other day got a white mage that took so long reading them, the group was getting afk warnings on just about everyone. Watching cutscenes is one thing, but taking over 10 minutes to get through a two minute scene, you should really be working on your reading skills rather than playing video games.
