The differences in stats between races is minimal. You should really pick your favorite job, not the one with the "best stats" for your favorite job, as the difference is so small that it's hard to measure.

As you can see from those charts, the gaps between the lowest stat race and the highest stat race are very small. A few points of a stat.

I've actually have played a long time, I'm considering min/maxing. I have every single thing 50 in this game since 1.0, with the addition of SCH/SMN in 2.0. I'm obsessed with getting my HP as high as possible for my WAR/PLD (the two jobs I play the most). Currently my HP in a full PT with buffs and food on WAR is 8.9K, I'd like to see it over 9k. Does your God choice make a difference with stats?

God choice only affects resists I believe. And I would agree that min/maxing racial stats is unnecessary but hey don't let us stop you from using that Fantasia. Just don't regret it when you switch classes and are no longer min/maxed :P
