I think the reason is people are forced to be douches in this game and hate the structure.

How to solve these situations:
1. No chests spawn until the final boss is downed. Then all chests appear in a horde of loot.
2. Players can vote to concede. A successful vote to concede returns all players to the start of the dungeon and spawns chests for bosses that were downed during the raid. The starting area is walled off.
3. When time limit expires, all players are immediately returned to beginning of instance (which is walled off) and all loot chests from downed bosses appear. Ample time is given to loot chests before the raid is booted from the instance.
PROBLEM SOLVED
they dont even gotta take a 30 min ban, they just go afk in the runs i been in then they get auto kick with no penalty or their alliance will kick them even sooner sometimes
Removing the lockout is unreasonable and would break the current gearing system as SE intends it. You might as well reduce all Darklight gear to 100 philo while you're at it... it just wont happen anytime in the near future.

Gaming the systems within games. Gameception? This isn't a new concept. Nobody likes wasting their time for no rewards. If a person only needs loot off of 1 boss and there is no significant drawback to only repeating that boss, why wouldn't he? Do you believe they are obligated to do everything for you and spend their valuable time repeating duties for strangers that they'll never encounter again?
Love how OP is complaining about a problem and then provides a link to further exacerbate it even more by introducing the concept to others as well as the loot table to even more people. lol, classic.
Don't expect any action from Square on this nonissue (re: Hunting Log @ Cutter's Cry). Leavers get replaced instantly anyway.

Got my like, participate to hold your win on loot. Of course people may go against this and say what about disconnects... than we can hope SE has a system that can detect a abandon vs. a honest d/c. Otherwise this seems the best way.
Why even compare DL? It was a means of giving everyone the gear after tons of requests in 1.0 to add a token system - The lockout for CT was clearly a design to extend the life of the content to keep people busy for the next 3-6 months, if there was more content you can guarantee it wouldn't "break" the itemization of the game as people would actually have more content and more ways to gear.
DL Farming wasn't designed to keep people busy since there's nothing preventing you from obtaining any DL piece you want if you have the tomes for it, Aurania doesn't say: "Oh, you have gotten a Darklight Coslette of Aiming..you can't buy (Insert) for another week." I get what you were saying but those are two completely different situations![]()
Asking for the lockout to be removed is ridiculous and will not be done. FFXIV does not cater to hardcore gearhogs; it caters to casual play. One of the first primary reasons for this is the disparaging gap that is created between casual and hardcore players gear-wise. SE stated their primary way of dealing with this is mitigation of end-game loot acquisition. Do not expect them to reverse their stance on this. Why even compare DL? If you have a major issue with lockouts, then you can deal with it or leave. Lockouts will continue for the lifespan of FFXIV, so get used to it. They will ease as content progresses, but there will always be lockouts / restrictions on obtaining the top few tiers of gear. So, to get back on topic, to resolve this issue, see my post above regarding post-completion loot drops.
