I thought you said those were Atlantica Awards?

And as I edited to my post, Demon's Souls isn't an MMO:

    From Wiki:

A massively multiplayer online game (also called MMO and MMOG) is a multiplayer video game which is capable of supporting hundreds or thousands of players simultaneously. By necessity, they are played on the Internet, and feature at least one persistent world. They are, however, not necessarily games played on personal computers. Most of the newer game consoles, including the PSP, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DSi and Wii can access the Internet and may therefore run MMO games. Additionally, mobile devices and smartphones based on such operating systems as Android, iOS, webOS, and Windows Mobile are seeing an increase in the number of MMO games available.

I as a noble citizen I will help you both out as you two will just end up going back forth Demon souls - Warhammer, etc etc..

    WoW > Both

Bolstering about 11+ Million subscribers, its better than both no amount of awards, hype, reviews or features can compete with cash. Blizzard dominates the MMO market.

Of all the useless crap I've read on these forums, the "Why isn't there a jump? That's a basic feature of all modern mmo's!" is the absolute worst. As one poster said, those who ask for it generally threaten to quit and put the feature at the height of their priorities.

    Really? An animation?
Are you coping alright now? Can you run just a little left to avoid that corner? Alright then, you'll be fine. Here's a bandaid.

If anything SE should adjust the map so it's possible to jump down from great-ish heights but not up them. Like in that one leve at Horizon where you kill the lalafell. I thought it was ridiculous I couldn't leap off that tiny decline. But jumping up it? Really?

I especially liked how the tank's defend went off after the Warlock was one-shotted. Priceless.

yes, Atlantica, sorry, I lost my place in the argument. As far as Demon's Souls goes, by the Wiki definition, Demon's Souls IS a MMO. When players enter the game, they have the option to Sign in to the network or not. When they sign in, they are then placed in an environment where they can call upon fellow players to join their party. Each player's "story," regardless of who is in your party, is instanced, but they are all in the same world, just different instances. Much like GW. The only difference is that the player cannot DIRECTLY, but can indirectly, communicate with players outside of the party. To indirectly communicate, the player can leave spirit messages on the floor and another player may read it, in his own instance, and respond in a similar fashion. That player, when killed, can leave a blood stain that, upon being selected, will show the player how the victim died, which can lead to the avoidance of a trap or ambush. So yes, it IS a MMO.

At a limitation of two people in your own game world, it does not meet the requirements of an MMO, or it would be listed as an MMO. Having a chat room filled with players that you can invite into your limited world does not make it an MMO. Just like Diablo II isn't an MMORPG. I think you have the line between multi-player and MMO blurred.

Let me simplify it for you, if it is an MMO it will be listed as such:

    World of Warcraft:

    Genre(s) Fantasy, MMORPG

    Mode(s) Multiplayer online

    Demon's Souls:

    Genre(s) Action-adventure, Role-playing game

    Mode(s) Single-player, online multiplayer

    Diablo II:

Genre(s) Action role-playing (hack and slash)

    Mode(s) Single-player, online multiplayer (over Battle.net)

you can actually have 3 other people in your world if you count the person who can invade and kill you, but that's beside the point. Regardless of YOUR OPINION, the definition that you gave clearly indicates that Demon's Souls is a MMO. Also, you have the wrong idea about the party system. There isn't a chat room for inviting players...there isn't even a chat room. Diablo 2, technically, according to your definition, is a MMO. It's not a MMORPG, but it is a MMO. See what I'm getting at? If it has online multiplayer and is connected to a server where everyone is in the same world, it's a MMO (Demon's Souls). Going against your definition, your opinion is that it is just online multiplayer. Does this mean that GW isn't a MMO?
