When players enter the game, they have the option to Sign in to the network or not. When they sign in, they are then placed in an environment where they can call upon fellow players to join their party. Each player's "story," regardless of who is in your party, is instanced, but they are all in the same world, just different instances. Much like GW. The only difference is that the player cannot DIRECTLY, but can indirectly, communicate with players outside of the party. To indirectly communicate, the player can leave spirit messages on the floor and another player may read it, in his own instance, and respond in a similar fashion. That player, when killed, can leave a blood stain that, upon being selected, will show the player how the victim died, which can lead to the avoidance of a trap or ambush. So yes, it IS a MMO.
