There's always shouting for ports too.

There are several key differences here though, one the distances between outposts where generally where you needed to be in XI, where as XIV pretty much takes the Outpost Pages idea from XI and makes it into the only real system of leveling/ranking in XIV which in turn means there is never a need to use chocobos or ships of any kind. I have to agree with Renshi, it's too damn easy. The problem now, is if they do away with anima too many people with gripe. Even if they made it used by gil, because the system you're suggesting means doing away with teleporting from anywhere to anywhere to a more limited form of from somewhere to some places. I myself would love an NPC system that used Anima OR Gil and didn't teleport me directly to where i need to be every time, I love it, but it seems too many WoW people like the idea of insane vertical progression. Though you obviously can't stop and smell the roses, I would think many of us from XI can agree that's kinda what we did to enjoy it.Originally Posted by Jinrya-Geki
But this isn't a thread about removing anima, it's adding another alternate way of transporting you character. It didn't make chocobos/airships/boats, and your own feet worthless in FFXI.
I am getting this idea from how outpost warps worked in FFXI. I didn't get this from WoW.
There a way more ways to teleport in FFXI, it's way more than FFXIV. And you're calling this too easy?
Like some of you, I am always more in favor of actual travel rather than warping/teleporting anywhere. However, I would appreciate some mounts please.
I wasn't implying you were getting it from WoW, I was simply stating the idea of leveling faster and the process of getting where you level fastest comes from a Vertical aspect that a lot of WoW members (like KoujiGeki) appeal to. Second of all there wasn't and still isn't as much access to the world of Vana'diel as there is to Eorzea. One you could not teleport from anywhere to anywhere in less than 5 key strokes, you always had to put in some leg work whether it was from the drop point to a teleport-crystal, an outpost warp to Valkurm Dunes and run to Selbina, and of course, unless you had a Maat's cap, getting to Jeuno usually meant a large combination of teleporting. Of course if you're saying there were a lot more types of teleporting you would most certainly be correct, but to say it was easier you couldn't be more wrong.
drop anima, then give us chocobo's bring back the warp scrolls & and warp spell.
anima is the reason the world feels so small.
The OP system didn't abolish Chocobo's or Airships. If done correctly we could have all of them. The only thing that might get effected is anima as getting gil is so easy it may be easier than to use anima haha
Anima isn't so much the problem as there is no way to earn more anima other than twiddling your thumbs. Be it a reward from certain leve, some other repeatable quest, a donation (1k for the first point that day, double for each additionally one... 1k for 1, 2k for 2, 4k for 3, 8k for 4, 16k for 5, etc.) or turning in items, there needs to be something.
