There a way more ways to teleport in FFXI, it's way more than FFXIV. And you're calling this too easy?
I wasn't implying you were getting it from WoW, I was simply stating the idea of leveling faster and the process of getting where you level fastest comes from a Vertical aspect that a lot of WoW members (like KoujiGeki) appeal to. Second of all there wasn't and still isn't as much access to the world of Vana'diel as there is to Eorzea. One you could not teleport from anywhere to anywhere in less than 5 key strokes, you always had to put in some leg work whether it was from the drop point to a teleport-crystal, an outpost warp to Valkurm Dunes and run to Selbina, and of course, unless you had a Maat's cap, getting to Jeuno usually meant a large combination of teleporting. Of course if you're saying there were a lot more types of teleporting you would most certainly be correct, but to say it was easier you couldn't be more wrong.
