    FFXIV on the Wii U

If the Wii U is as powerful as some people are claiming and it can handle FFXIV and you decide to port it over to the new console can you please, please, please take advantage of it's controller. A few ideas of what I would like to see are:

Action bar and macro's on the controller screen for quick touchscreen access.

Button to bring up the map on the controller.

Button to switch controller screen to a keyboard to type messages.

Ability to drag chat logs and other widgets onto it so I can clear some clutter away from my main screen.

These are just a few quick ideas I am sure there are many other nifty things you could think up to do with it.

Oh yeah....when i read about the features from wii u i did think "Heck...FFXIV could go for this one"...if FFXI came with HDD for PS2, why not it coming with external HDD for Wii U?

With the controller havingabout the same number of buttons (and with the touch screen making up for missing buttons since we can have macros, action bars, etc there and even virtual button mapped at its border) it does would be a very interesting thing to see! ^^

Also, its a personal comment but i always had better luck regarding durability of Nintendo hardware over sony hardware so i do would rather using a nintendo console over sony console. ^^

I'm almost positive Nintendo's online framework is worse than Microsoft's when it comes to handling MMOs.

    Friend codes anyone? No thanks.

Well the word on the street is that Nintendo are letting the devs handle the online side of things in each game themselves, so if it did come to Wii U then there would be no red tape for SE to work their way through.

I'm looking foward to it. I really would enjoy seeing SE coming back to nintendo consoles with their main series instead of spin-off only.

Also, IMO the "only i can charge here" approach from M$ also isn't that good IMO. I really hope this FF become badass enough to make M$ regret not accepting the terms for a 360 version of it.

...need to ask this at next Q&A =P "Regarding gathering...are there any plans of FFXIV being released for Wii U?" =P

EDIT: Actually...the Morbol could be nice and ask this to dev team for me! @_@ Because i bet most big softhouses already have the console specs and dev tools so they might have an idea already about it being possible or not.

This is a non issue, as Final Fantasy XIV uses its own network code.

I would actually love to see Dragon Quest Online for the Wii-U though.

They can get PS3 version out anytime they want it was completed in Novemeber, they won't release it however until FFXIV is up to scratch and currently the game just isn't good enough. They need the PS3 release to be a success to ensure the survival of FFXIV. If it got released now, sure the reviews would be a bit better than what it got at launch but lack of content and many other complaints would remain.

So with that, there is no reason why it shouldn't be released on Wii U or any other console (360) as it is down to the current state of FFXIV that it's releases has been held back not technical problems with the console. Having said that though we have heard a PS3 limitations excuse a few times in regards to new features so maybe if they are hitting the limits on PS3 already they should drop support for it and move to the Wii U if it is actually a more powerful platform.

wrong the delay it march of this year due to GPU or Ram issue. So pretty much had it done around that time and not release it now due to pc not being good enough to be on the ps3 lol.

    CLICKY

It was up and running on PS3 in November the port was 100% complete and they were just optimising it. The only reason they said March was because they hoped the would have FFXIV ready for a relaunch by then but it is not and that is the only reason why it is not on PS3 right now.

In order for this game to survive it needs the relaunch/launch on PS3 to be a huge success and the fact is that is just not up to that yet. They are still reworking key mechanics in the game and the core gameplay. Until all that is finalised and they have a huge amount of content ready to go we will not see a PS3 release as they can not afford for FFXIV to get tanked in the media a second time.
