I submitted a bug report and the thread was locked saying it was not a bug. This just happened to me. I was too busy playing to worry about passing, thinking it would just discard itself or go to the person who needed it. It drops on me and now my loot roll is screwed for the week. I submitted two tickets and got two replies saying to submit a bug report. Do I?
I would like to see an additional or replaced option for the loot list just so gear that no one wants isn't being wasted:
A rough idea might be: NEED, GREED, AUTO
NEED/GREED: You are allowed 1 NEED -or- GREED win per week
AUTO: Choose AUTO if you don't need it, and let the system randomly assign the piece to someone. You are allowed 1 AUTO assignment per RUN. Basically choose this if you don't need or want the item, this way, you don't waste your NEED/GREED for the week, and the gear doesn't go to waste, as it may end up benefiting someone's offspec. Once you are assigned a piece of gear from AUTO, you cannot be assigned another for that specific run.
Oh, if you meant through System > Support Desk I did put in a report of a bug. They specifically say they will not be able to provide an individual reponse to the reports though. Is there any way to get a direct response?
Edit: never mind found it via the FAQ

So, with that mentality of yours, is it fair to make someone wait 5 minutes for them to get that loot because you're too lazy to click pass when that takes 2 seconds to do? Wow how lazy and inconsiderate can you get? You're only embarrassing yourself with this. I have no issues with the system in place because it will teach people to not be lazy with a 2 second pass click and allow someone to equip an upgrade they can use.^
It does not make sense. If I don't choose Need, Greed or Pass, it should be considered Pass
because I don't even bother choose Need or Greed before times up, so I don't deserve to get it (try thinking if it is not loot lockout scernerio)
But current system understands as Need or Greed.
It is the problem on loot system design at the first place.
Since using example led the mis-understanding, let me specific to the case :3
In CT,
You will in the end receive 1st - 3rd boss's loot you needed or greeded because loot countdown is 5 mins
(You should have no problem with it unless you want to leave CT right after get the loot)
This said problem can happen only in last boss. If you needed or greeded it but if all members left instance, you will still get the loot.
But if someone just trolling you to stay in instance up until time out, this is another problem ( but what is the point to do that :3 )
We were talking about the case ppl rushing to leave instance with passing or without selecting at all
and last man in party was being forced to get that loot and locked down for that week.
I insists that this is clearly a flaw of system.
Not sure how will OP's ticket be responsed but I am sure, soon enough SE will take action on this problem.
/peace
Had this happen to me as well half an hour ago. BRD legs dropped, but I was typing in order to say thanks to the alliance for the smooth run. It only took 10 seconds for everyone from my party to leave and I got saddled up with an item I don't need nor want (I have the AF+1 already) and a week of waiting until I can loot something I'm actually interested in (BRD feet or MNK set).
While this has always been the case, never has it had consequences like in CT where you're locked out for a whole week. I do agree not rolling for five minutes should have some kind of penalty, but even then I've had times where, after running WP for the 10th time, I didn't even look at the loot button anymore and just forgot about it, so mistakes can still happen even in that case.
I'm not gonna propose a solution because I don't have one, but something clearly needs to be done about the looting when everyone left thing.
Happened to me too. I was unsure whether or not I wanted the item that dropped, but everyone else quickly left and the item was forced on me before I made my decision.
Under no circumstances should loot be forced on us if we didn't roll need or greed on it. There is absolutely no reason for the need/greed/pass options to disappear when you're the last remaining person. If the timer expires, it should auto-pass - and that's the only automatic function there should be.
I play on ps3 and by the time I finished loading everyone was gone. I would of been stuck with something I didn't want before I even got past the loading screen if I didn't get mnk gloves earlier in the run. so yea this needs to be adressed. I don't run it more than twice a week anyway because of the derp fest that is ct.
I did get a very professionally written and quick response from SE for my ticket. They said they were sorry for the issue and understand my frustration, although they also could not reset my loot for the week. I am hoping they make a fix by next week.
One of my friends is tempted to leave the dungeon after the third boss so that he isn't saddled with a random loot at the 4th boss (and the loot he wants drops from 3rd boss). The loot I am aiming for drops from the 4th boss (monk body) and I am worried I might get a random drop again because I am on PS3.
Going to take another friend's advice and make sure to queue with friends/full party to make sure at least one person will stay in the instance with me until I roll. The first time was actually with my FC, but no one expected it to auto-loot... Definitely making sure my party members know next week. Kind of funny, but safety in numbers is my quick-fix for this until SE does something![]()

I just had this happen to me. My computer locked up during the final boss of CT, and when I logged back in after, I had received loot (and it's something I never would have rolled on.)
Really frustrated and angry, and the responses here makes it seem like SE won't do anything about it. This really needs some sort of adjustment.
