Ok so you ran your own business Before hence the past tense terminology there but I am going to assume either 1 of 2 things either you struck it golden and sold for profit or you shut down which is not something SE wants to do over XIVyes i have actually ran my own business before. i never said they shouldn't pay attention to cost. i stated profit and loss. in other words if it will cost more to fix the game than the anticipated profit off of it they should shut it down. if the anticipated profits are above the level all companies set upon originally starting a project then they should fix it.
i can promise you there is more profit to do things right the first time than what they have been doing so far. if they want to go by what things have cost they should fire the entire team including yoshi and shut the entire game down. they spent money anticipating making profits in the long run.
i'm not going to spend 10$ to buy something if i can only get paid 8$ for it.
i will spend that same 10$ if i feel i can make 20$.
The point is that they don't know the exact cost, and if they don't know it a) they don't know how much they need to spend and b) their accounting will be off.
They have already assessed the costs of developing the feature in question, but the actual implementation is not free either. It's clear that they have decided to go for it regardless of the actual cost, but that doesn't mean they should ignore the cost altogether and just blindly throw money at the project.
This is none of the customer's business really, but at least it's not vague. Every company does this all the time.

whatever.... the job system must be sucks anyway because they seem have no summoner
Job system would "suck" not because it lacks a useless job but if the job system mechanic itself would be bad. Summoner is the last job this game needs, hell even in the FF games with Summoner unless it was forced (i.e end of FFX) you could go the whole game without using it lol.
and that's why FFX is the best![]()

big business and small business have different business models. Big business generally believes in operating at a loss for a longer period, to profit later. In fact they often do this even when uneccessary, due probably to taxes, and expectations.
In any event, i wouldnt look at the cost analysis too much, we dont even know what they mean when they say that, it could be cost in terms of time, amount of resources, man hours, or it could just be a BS line they tell people while they sit around.
regardless at the end of the day, they need to be faster than they have been, i really hope that this battle system was some insane task that required years because if this is their pace, they will never compete. They will be completely eclipsed by newer games in terms of content at this pace. I guarantee that guild wars 2 and swtor will drop with a load of content, at this pace this game will not even have completed their first story arc by the time these games come out.
Foundational systems are always the longest work of any game project -- online or offline.
You don't know what their pace is. Just like you don't know what the GW2 team's pace is.

All you know is what's in front of you. Which means nothing. That said, ArenaNet is not going by any pace at all because you are not playing the game. This makes no sense, yet that is what this is all about. Only the unreleased game can get away with it.
Although the comical thing about this is, that if SE took the servers offline for a year and worked on the game in secrecy, few people would have an issue with it. Since that's what companies tend to do anyway.

you know what happens when you assume anything. you don't know me or why i closed down, but you like to make assumptions. the reasons i closed down were do to family issues that are none of your business so do not come to me acting like you know me.

actually we have seen more demos and videos from the devs of those two games then we ever have from SE, and their game is actually released. Those 2 games are filled with all sorts of content they have been showing off for a while now. So technically the information is right in front of us. This has nothing to do with pace in the long run though, it has more to do with the decision makers in the companies. Arena net and whatnot said straight up the game will be done when its done. And that is great. SE makes bad decisions and ends up shipping out a game that is a mere shadow of what it should have been according to early dev videos. The best pace is a pace that isnt teathered to a specific release date. Say it is done when it is done and you have all the time in the world. You don't know what their pace is. Just like you don't know what the GW2 team's pace is.
