    Lol that always cracks me up, so to avoid being disappointed later, you're going to just be disappointed now. How about we look at the facts and not make any decisions based on arbitrary speculation;

Here's a link to a thread on this very forum, the tenth letter from Mr. Yoshida http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...805-20-2011%29

The third paragraph final line presents and I quote "Remember, these are our plans until summer 2011!"

Next if you'll scroll down to the Armoury System Changes you'll see included the plans for Jobs and implementation. I should remind you of the first statement "Remember, these are our plans until summer 2011!"

So there it is the only objective evidence on this thread. Rebuttal?

Um...your post wasn't very clear, but I'm assuming you are making a statement about how jobs will be implemented this summer based on that chart. However, nowhere in the letter does it say ANYTHING about job implementation. Here's what we have as far as jobs go:

    Establishment of job specifics (Nope)

    Job system mechanics (Nope)

    Creation of job assets (Nope)

Development of core mechanics for the job system (Nope)

Establish the details of the initial set of jobs and their skills (Nope)

Development of graphical assets for each job such as equipment (Nope)

Cost assessment for job system implementation (Nope)

Determine the attributes of each job (Nope)

Stage by stage implementation of job-specific weapons and armor (Nope)

    EDIT:

also looked in the "In Development" section and found only these two items.

    [dev1076] Creation of job assets
Development of graphical assets for each job such as equipment

    [dev1075] Establishment of job specifics
Establish the details of the initial set of jobs and their skills

Again, nothing to make me think jobs are coming anytime soon.

    ~BUT~

We still have this to help define party roles better until jobs are released, and to help us enjoy dungeons and whatever Grand Companies content they throw our way.

[dev1074] Reexamination of requirements for setting actions
Implement the default setting of class-specific actions when playing as that class, and define conditions for setting the actions of other classes.

Really a shame if they're not in.
Those people would need reading comprehension lessons since at no time was it ever said or posted that 1.18 would have jobs in it. In fact, to expect that is pretty unreasonable.

just one more of the people that left that game did so because of their fault. place blame where it should go. the people that leave this game have left because it was not up to their expectations and continues to underwhelm. no matter how low you set your hopes for 1.18 most people will still be upset that by the end of the summer we will be almost a year from release and it is not massively better. to expect a game to become more fun to play from sept-nov was unreasonable, but by the end of summer we will be close to 1 year.

You're talking about something completely different, and it is a point that I would agree with. Quitting a game after a year because it is still no fun is understandable. However, raging because a new system was not in a patch when they never said it was going to be there in the first place, and in fact pretty much told us it would NOT be, is unreasonable....

all i was saying is the people that have stuck with this game so far i cannot blame if they leave. if they stayed this long they wanted the game to succeed, but each person has their point in which they give up. i can't say even if someone quit today it was unreasonable because they have played it for months without any significant improvement.

i know that they have no stated this will be in there, but you must also realize that every post asking for anything fun in game was met with wait until after 1.18 responses. with this the defenders of the game have set high expectations for those wanting other things besides auto attack added. those super high expectations are unlikely to be met. me i am more patient and willing to give them until the end of summer and test out what all has been put in and make a decision based off that.

The ones that literally ran an MMO (FFXI) that paid for most of their games you probably played between 2005-2009? Yep.

Resources, manpower, money, engine taxing etc etc.

they should be more worried about their bottom line profit and loss margin than their cost assessment. if they are worried about cost they should have taken their time to get things done right the first time. now they have 2 choices. fix it no matter the cost or shut it down.

So they shouldn't calculate how much all of this is going to cost? That doesn't mean they aren't willing to spend. They simply need to know how much they are spending at any given time. Have you ever worked for a company before?

yes i have actually ran my own business before. i never said they shouldn't pay attention to cost. i stated profit and loss. in other words if it will cost more to fix the game than the anticipated profit off of it they should shut it down. if the anticipated profits are above the level all companies set upon originally starting a project then they should fix it.

i can promise you there is more profit to do things right the first time than what they have been doing so far. if they want to go by what things have cost they should fire the entire team including yoshi and shut the entire game down. they spent money anticipating making profits in the long run.

i'm not going to spend 10$ to buy something if i can only get paid 8$ for it.
i will spend that same 10$ if i feel i can make 20$.
