    If you think about it.....

    I was just playing for the past few hours. Nothing too strenuous just milling around and chatting to LS. Then I went and hit some things and as I was swinging my sword wildly I though: "Bloody hell the dev team has got a job on their hands!" By no means was that a direct comment at the combat but rather a realization that they are basically RE-DOING the battle system.

    They now have to adjust every single skill/ability in the game. Removing the Stamina bar means writing script for the effects of slow,haste,w/e to auto adjust timers.

    On top of this removing phys levels and pretty much giving "fixed" stats depending what class you are. Not only do they have to work out a way to re-balance every class but they also have to come up with a way to transfer your exp so far into this new system.

    Then there's the new jobs system and the skills/inner-workings of that.

    Dungeons - 'nuff said

    New NM's/mobs

    New recipes - again....

    New quests (for jobs system, but quests all the same)

    and people are complaining that there hasnt been much word from the homefront? When these are set to drop in the next week or so in 1.18 spare a thought for how much workload is actually on their shoulders! I'd imagine they'll be working some crazy hours on the run-up to 1.18 release.

    (That being said it may land with a flopping sound roll over spill out 2 quests and a new hat with a note on saying "I promise 1.19 will be better"! But here's hoping it's not the case!)

    Totally agree. I mean yea, I'd like as much info as possible too, but I have enough patience not to make a new thread about it a few days after each letter. Bitching for new info won't make the update get here faster. If anything, it would probably slow things down. As long as Toto-Rak turns out to be something that lasts longer than a week I'll be happy. Just get it right SE.

    SE has a TON on their plate right now. They're not charging us a dime. So just chill out and let them do their job.

    Yeah I have been saying for a long time that they will be holding content back until the battle system is finalised and released. There would not be any point in adding it as it would have to all be readjusted for the new battle system therefore creating even more work.

    Hopefully when the battle system is in and they have finished monitoring it and tweaking it to make sure everything is fine and balanced then the content should start coming at a rapid rate. Lets not forget while it is a large Dev team, they are spilt into smaller teams that work on different things. The battle team has a huge task that is why it is taking so long, but during that time the other teams have been working on their bit's too so they should have a lot of stuff ready to go as well. Maybe one team is working on the rumoured Region redesigns, another on new enemies, another on the wards and possible AH, another on new gear and equipment, another on mounts, Companies and other content and so on.

    You can see there is a lot to do and they have teams working on all of it but a lot of stuff is tied to the battle system so that needs to come first.

    On the other hand I could be completely wrong but then I really do doubt they have been sat doing nothing all this time. Still admit I would like to have some more info on what they are working on or what is in testing though.

    I doubt all those changes will see light of day at 1.18. In fact I'm only expecting the initial changes being the introduction of auto attack and what that entails (i.e., weapons would all have to be given at least one extra stat which is speed of swing imo although I'm not sure how they're treating this) and adjustments to classes in preparation for the implementation of jobs and in order for them to work right with auto attack and then little by little they will balance, re-balance and re-balance some more as they come to a point where they introduce jobs. I doubt 1.18 will see jobs. But yea, this said, I think they have a lot on their plate.

    I do not expect jobs, but I expect the initial company stuff to be added, 2 dungeons at least (30 and a 50, might be the same place no idea), some new quest, job modifications, massive battle changes, tweaks to everything the battle will effect, and a ton of bugs brought on by changing a foundational game play system.

    It probably doesn't help that they're working on the new dungeons and the battle system revamp at the same time. Since, y'know, the dungeon would have to be balanced according to the new system, which isn't finalized yet.

    yes, they have alot of work, but it is their fault. they released a sub par game so alot of work is needed.

    I doubt the community managers are the same people in charge of the game design and implementation. In fact I'm pretty positive they're not.

    I mean come on, how about a few scraps for the ravenous fans who've been waiting for such information? A little word on new skills, a detail here and there, a confirmation (positive or negative) about something.

    Hell I'd just settle for the list of what classes become what jobs. Gladiator becomes Paladin, neat-o, and while I'm more interested in how a bunch of burly pit-fighters become holy crusaders than I am about the actual combat changes, I'd really appreciate a detail or two.

    I know, I know, "we're working on it, please be patient, nothing is finalized yet so I can't say anything."
