    Final Fantasy XIV PS3 Hard Drive Space

    With Final Fantasy 14's long time goal to release said game on the PS3 I'm curious what the communities speculations on hard drive space regarding the game are.

    DCUO as of now on my PS3 takes a little less then 16 gigs on my hard drive. I am curious by throwing up Final Fantasy in comparison to DCUO what do you think will be the storage space needed for Final Fantasy XIV?

    I personally have a terabyte in my PS3 so it does not affect me too much, however how will this affect the common person who has all ready probably reached into the upwards of their factory PS3's storage device allowance.

    I apologies if this was addressed in a thread all ready, i have yet to locate a thread regarding this.

    DCUO = DC Universe Online

    Yes the PS3 uses Laptop HDD's, the upgrade is fairly easy itself, and cheap. I fear the problem is most people suffer from not knowing how to back up all of their memory for the upgrade. Using an external hard drive isent enough you have to completely re format (FAT32) the external hard drive too.

    I"m curious though which is why i made this thread the Hardware demands of FF XIV are a lot more then DCUO so I'm guessing FFXIV would take at least 20 gigs (and that's being generous IMO). How many people have 20 gigs on their PS3's to spare?

    Very true and i agree with you to an extent, i just wonder how SE will deal with this, or if they will do anything at all, for the people who are not as tech savy or did not buy the 250 gig and still want to play FF XIV on the PS3.

    Also i don't have DCUO but i thought i heard a friend say it was 30 gigs, but I'm sure if DCUO has enough people on ps3 platform XIV will be OK as well. Despite the bad reviews i got like 40/100 people on my xbox FL and like 30 on ps3 FL waiting on this game.

    Simple: Upgrade the HDD. If you can't, there are youtube videos that show you how. If you lose your data, you're a nab. L2technology

    Not too sure why your friends is so large, maybe because he digital downloaded? but I'm looking at my PS3 HDD right now and it says 15 gigs for DCUO.

    it gotta be horrible waiting for the ps3 to install a patch to FFXIV when its released.
    hell a 5GB game takes alot longer than it should imagine about 14GB going piece by piece with the patch checking its self.
    PS3 melt down?
