I have yet to find them, I assume they spawn as fates at certain places. I watched a video on youtube on where to find them and they didn't spawn at those points where I waited. I'm hoping to find them soon! Just found this, hope it helps both of us. http://ffxivrealm.com/threads/starli...tide-fun.9400/

If I remember rightly, the Christmas FATEs spawn in the same places the Bombard FATEs spawned during the Summer event: south-east corner of Central Thanalan, south-east corner of Middle La Noscea, and the south-east corner of the Central Shroud.

The Christmas FATE is called 'Stay Frosty' by the way, and involves having to kill imps which are slowly melting a snowman with fireballs, hence the name. The trick is though the imps are actually invincible - you can only harm them by waiting for a treant in the battle to throw a snowball at a specific spot (shown by an AoE circle), which you have to be within to get hit by (it doesn't do much damage, but will knock you flying). Doing so grants you a 'snowman' buff that allows you to damage the imps for about 30 seconds - when it wears off, just rinse and repeat .

Win the battle and you'll get up to 30 'eternal snow' key items which you redeem for the Christmas-themed gear at one of the 'Starlight Celebration Vendor' npcs in the three cities (purchasing just one piece of the new Christmas gear - a snowman costume - unlocks an achievement by the way ).

    Hopefully this has helped.

What a silly mechanic, annoying as... well... I happened on the Fate event, and worked out that the Treant was trying to save the Snowman from the imps and I tried to attack the imps but all my attacks failed... I thought I was lagging out.
I am not the only one that didnt know the mechanic either, had others swearing and yelling about lag doing this fight... its not really fun having a invulnerable enemy attacking you and not having a clue what the hey is happening.

One spawns just near Hyrstmill (30-20) in North Shroud, the village of the relic blacksmith.

And btw, manage to get hit by the AOE to be buffed and kill the imps. Otherwise they are invulnerable. ^_^

Then they're not very smart people... it says "invulnerable" when you try attack them... No lag causes that effect in the game.
