Did they buff this fight because I have been trying all week to beat him and every party I have been in can't get past P4?

Nothing has been buffed and he is the same way as he has been before.
The only difference is that most players moved on to Extreme Modes and new content and you are left with the people who couldn't beat it up to this point.
Also some DPS classes got a nerf so playing half asleep is not an option anymore.
IMO the plumes feel a lot easier to dodge now.
This is a big one. You could try setting up Party Finder to have a min item level to offset it a bit, but you're still going to have less of a pool to choose from. It'll even out eventually when people go back to getting relics for other classes and such.Nothing has been buffed and he is the same way as he has been before.

Dunno... personally I've got too used with Ultima, there's a lot of time to dodge its AoE so I didn't even bother pre-moving. Then came back to Titan and faced the old harsh reality...
No, Titan is even easier than before now, since positions update quicker.
It isn't the end of the world since it is for my fourth relic but I was just curious since they did buff Ifrit's resist rate in HM.
No they didn't. They changed Diminishing returns. Instead of the immunity timer starting after the first application, it starts after the third. Which is how it is in other games. This isn't something special about Ifrit, diminishing returns is on the status effect itself, not the mob.
Oh, I only noticed more eruptions being resisted than they used to be.No they didn't. They changed Diminishing returns. Yeah, it's a function of the given debuff, not so much the mobs resistance. A mob is either immune or not to stun in this case. If not, Diminishing returns applies. Before, what would happen is shortly after the third and shortest stun, the timer would wear off since it started with the first one. Now that it starts with the third, which is how it's supposed to work, it will mean people need to dodge (which is what you're supposed to do anyways) or a Paladin can use Shield Swipe if he can manage it. Sometimes you don't have a block at the right time.
