Post Patch 2.1 Lag Spike

Sudden Lag Spikes post 2.1 patch
So before the patch I never experienced any kind of lag. Maybe during passing through congested areas such as Mor Dhona or Quarrymill at peak times I would slow down or experience a bit of frame rate drop. But ever since the patch I have been experiencing lag so bad that my screen is showing during battle the skill I casted before. For example I casted Full Thrust > Leg sweep. Full thrust would only show once I casted already Leg sweep sometimes a bit after that even.

Right now I'm hoping its due to "optimization" with the recent re splitting of the data center things. Or even because there's a huge uptick on players back (Although I am doubtful on this considering even on dungeons I'm lagging at the start)

If this is due to the resplitting of the data centers and it is permanent then I'm permanently screwed by SE as well.

I hope to at least get some light into this whether other players are experiencing this too and hopefully, just hopefully an official response from a mod.

Had the same problem. After doing some tracerts, I figured the problem had to do with the route my connection was taking to the data center after 2.1. I got myself on a VPN, and ever since, my lag is MUCH more manageable. I still get some lag spikes, but only about half as many and they are usually no more than a fraction of a second compared to 10-30 seconds before.

In my opinion, do a tracert to your server, see if you are getting constant packet loss from one or more nodes. Tell SE what nodes are causing it. The more people complaining about it, the more likely they will tackle the problem soon.

My lag spikes usually only last about 1-2 secs and usually on engaging mobs. Sadly I'm not that savvy enough to even understand what tracert is. :/ Kinda Ironic when I'm so close to the Montreal datacenter

I'm hitting the same issue, huge packet losses while fighting in a Duty and minor packet loss while fighting out in normal areas.

I've never had this issue before 2.1 but now it's a huge issue for me as I can't see when bosses cast sometimes.

Not really sure how to resolve this problem

I'm getting this big time as well since the patch. Lots of player/mob rubber banding. tracerts is showing no problems and the VPN I tried has not fixed the problem. Please look into it.

Edit: Also, It mainly happens during pvp/primals/coil

Yep, get this as well. Mainly in Duty Finder.

I also have the same problems. It seems the fixes to help it before the 2.1 patch were reverted. Im having teleport crashs in busy zone, sudden extreme slowdowns in game play and update lag. Also have when I get to a new part of a fix I get this lag like its loading something then after like 15secs its fine for alittle while then happens again.

Maybe the fixes they did before need to be reapplied????

I certainly hope we get a mod reply on this. Sure only a few replies are here but at the very least its a serious issue on their side considering it only happened after the 2.1 patch. I hope its not permanent due to resplitting of d.centers. Fingers crossed, its been 5 days of this and it really eats on the gameplay

Bump because this is needs to be seen. Everyone I talk to in DF says they are having the same problems. Hard to play the dodge game when you are in a constant glitch state.
