    Nice idea Rad.

I remember when they were first talking about Player Companies and Player Company Ships, my friends and I were dreaming about maybe everyone in the Company could come together and *craft* a Ship! So we'd need the Carpenters to start making Planks and carving out Masts. We'd need Clothcraft to weave the Sails, etc.

Honestly I find the current crafting system fun, I just don't like the ridiculous number of crafts it takes to raise a skill. I don't think it even takes this many synths to raise a craft from 1 to 100 in FFXI...

What I really want is a continue option while in regular synthing. Choose main hand or off hand synth, choose how many of the item you want to synth, confirm and synth till completion. Cuts a bit down on the lag in between synths since you don't have to go through 3 selection processes in order to continue, just 1.

On the making things easier thing, how about giving us an elemental instability indicator? As you synth, you have to also keep an eye on the elemental levels, once it reaches a certain point that element will destabilize. Not only would it give us something to do besides mindless standard spam, but it also actually makes those "Prevent X element from destabilizing" abilities actually useful. Crafting gets a little easier, and a little more interactive as well.

Edit: Almost forgot, give us "mass production" synth formulas like in XI. Having to synth through a stack of ores or logs can get tiresome at times. Give us the option to x2/x3/x4 the production speed by adding a guild purchase only item (like twine for lumber in XI).

Honestly I'm all for more speed. Crafting right now is easy as hell anyway, it just takes too freaking long.

Many people on this forum seem to confuse difficulty with length.

Plus one for more fun over it being easier.

Getting to 50 is easy at the moment. Don't take the easy way out by making it easier to level. Add more content for crafters that is fun and enables us to do something OTHER than just grind out levels or grind out HQ mats.

I think its pretty obvious the majority of those playing ffxiv don't want ANYTHING easier, we want more of a challenge, crafting included.

Agreed. But how does one do that? How do you make crafting more challenging and simultaneously make it take less time? No sarcasm. I'm asking an honest question.

That activity sounds far more engaging and interesting than what we have now. Just a quick example.
Like this sort of idea. The end result being lots of SP. With Failures being 0.
