For good reason. Just about every other AAA MMO provides at least two data centers, on both the west and east coasts of America. AT LEAST.
Sqenix half assed it and took the cheap way out with one data center located in Vancouver.
That means people in California have to send packets 1/4 of the way around the planet to reach the server. And it's even worse for some people who are unfortunate enough to be even further away.
I use pingzapper for the lag. We try our ps3 once in awhile to see if things have gotten better. They haven't for us at least. :X (socal TWC)
Lag??? Not me. I just straight up disconnect. I am either playing smoothly or not playing at all. I think it might be only affecting PS3 users (myself included). The PS4 version really needs to get here asap.
ps4 version wont change how your internet is routed to their servers... that wont fix lag.
For me my 90k errors have trippled since 2.1 i get at leat 10 90k errors a day now.
Yeah, my only actual lag in the game has been inside instances so far so I think there's something going on there. Hopefully nothing to do with the new changes to positional delay.
Way more lag after 2.1, but I assume it's mostly because a lot of people have come back, and the servers are busy.
This is most likely the case at the moment. Though if their servers weren't hosted about as far away from all major centers as possible it would help. While I hate that centralized servers are in the Texas area these days (Oceania!), it'd still be better than Montreal.
