Greetings. I understand, that data centers was created to make game less lagging, but some of my friends say, that game become more lagging after these changes. Does someone have same thoughts, problems?

no
actually its more smooth if i must say
Nope. and all the hiccups i'd been experiencing before are gone.
The only thing I have noticed post-2.1 is that the many loading screens are taking a bit longer to finish, well, loading. On average it's at least 10-20 seconds longer than it was before for me. I play on PS3 but haven't dealt too much with lag and whatnot. However, even with the loading screens taking longer, the game is playing much more smoothly now which is a plus.
It should be noted that the new 'Data Centre' groupings are just a way of clumping servers into smaller groups on the character selection screen/lobby server - the actual physical data centres for the servers are still the same old ones in Japan and Canada (this is basically confirmed on the Lodestone in the 'Character Creation Restrictions' updates that SE regularly posts, which still list servers as under 'Japan Data Centre' and 'NA/EU Data Centre'). In any event, it definitely seems to be having an effect at least on cutting login queues, which is only a good thing.![]()
No problems here, might be your equipment lol
For good reason. Just about every other AAA MMO provides at least two data centers, on both the west and east coasts of America. AT LEAST.
Sqenix half assed it and took the cheap way out with one data center located in Vancouver.
That means people in California have to send packets 1/4 of the way around the planet to reach the server. And it's even worse for some people who are unfortunate enough to be even further away.
