Error listed above, same as if i didn't have a connection to the internet (but I do, can talk on vent, play wow, watch movies, etc...)

Cannot reinstall, as it will not authenticate the download from the website, cannot launch, cant do anything. So...yea. Ive tried disabling programs, restarting, you name it, but it does not work.

Hello, I am having the same problem as well, I have made sure all my files are not "read only" and ran them as admin. It was working a couple days ago, and then when I went to play wednesday it gave me this error. I was hoping maybe it was just a bug but I am still unable to connect.

My pc is, however I have tried running it in compatability mode, unless there is something else I should do?

gonna take a stab at this, But is the ffxiv.exe file, are you running it as admin with the box ticked in the properties?

If so, dont run it as admin and untick that box

Having this issue as well. Running Windows 7. Relogging doesn't seem to help. Hope a fix comes along soon. I hardly got to start the lightning event.

I unclicked the box, but I still get prompted "Are you sure you want to allow this program to make changes to this computer?" I clicked yes, and then get the error after about 30seconds

Disable the Windows Firewall. Try to reinstall again.

I'm currently experiencing this problem as well for the PC version. I've tried all of the fixes that I've seen, however, most of them applied to beta versions of the game. Is this still happening to others? Or has anyone figured out how to fix the issue?
