Around what level does the game pickup ?
I realise I wont see anything too exciting or entertaining or remotely fun until later levels but if I know the level required for fun to start I can maybe pull a few all nighters ^_^

Any info is appreciated
sorry but i can't take that serious. have you ever played a japanese rpg in the past 10 years? not to mention the "grind" in Mario games and the like.

But that aside: just do your story quests. In the beginning you level faster by them than the level requirement for them raises, especially if you do the fates you encounter while doing the story. Later on (lvl 20 or so onwards) it won't be enough anymore and you need to do other quests, dungeons and/or fates. If the story is not fun to you, then yes, the game will become very grindy. And without knowing what you find fun or interesting we can't tell you whether it becomes different or not. As others have said, dungeons get unlocked from lvl 15 on.
