Now with the stun diminishing returns change, how do you PLD handle Eruptions? Can you prevent later Eruptions that cover the entire arena without DR issues, or is it inevitable that an eruption will go off?

There will still be eruptions that go off. The most important ones to stun seem to be the ones after dashes. People have just stopped moving and forget that they need to move again. The safest way is to have everyone plan on moving for all of them; stun the most dangerous ones. In 1.XX it was all about the moving. It was just part of Ifrit, and most people in 2.0 seem to move well enough. Way easier than Titan.
Cool, thanks for your response. I was doing this yesterday and more often than not the groups had no idea they changed stun dr so I got yelled at. I was just curious if there was specific Eruptions to focus on etc.
What did they change with DR?? I must have missed that completely.
DR now takes effect based on when the last status ended, as opposed to when the first ended. Meaning you can stun three Eruptions in a row like normal, but then you have to wait the 30s or so for the DR timer to expire before you can stun again. Beforehand, DR started with the first debuff, so by the time the third was done you had maybe another 10-15s at most before Ifrit was vulnerable again.
Gotcha, doing some research people are saying that the 60s DR resets on each successful stun.DR now takes effect based on when the last status ended, as opposed to when the first ended. I messed with this a bit today.
It's critical to just stun every one you can at the start for LB and then deal with the ones later when resists are up. You should also plan to deal with the one that occurs during nails if need be specially if you are going at them without a mage LB3.
After nails I found that letting some go off but stunning the one that occurs right before the last set of plumes was most useful as you don't want people to have to run out far avoiding the eruptions then not be able to make it back to Ifrit for the last set plumes.
Stop stunning and start dodging. Practice for Ifrit Extreme.
Couldn't agree more.
As a side note, there is an awesome mis-colored patch on the ground in the NE corner on Extreme that has been a perfect indicator for Radiant Plume. Not sure if the safe spot rotates at all or not, but the ones I have seen have all been in that same spot.
I stun the first 3, then say in party chat next ones will be resisted. After Dr drops I stun the next 3, again telling party chat. This is critical because we'll have 2 1/2 of the lb bars filled for nails. Plus with this, I'll know eruptions during nail phase will be stunned
