Cant complete "Adventurer for Hire"

Steps:
Cant complete the quest Adventurer for Hire, when I try and hand in to the npc named above, the UI just flashes and nothing happens, I have tried loggin out and in again, tried changing jobs and have also abandoned the quest and picked it up again, still no joy.
