This in a nut shell.Well, to be rather blunt, it's not exactly like beating a difficult encounter, or acquiring an insanely rare item. You're sort of just myriad people throwing an illogical amount of gil into a pile to get what is basically a larger Mog House that should be far more extravagant for the amount of money you expended.
If you guys are happy with it, by all means, bask in that feeling, don't let anyone stop you, but a lot of us are just nonplussed because we feel the amount of gil required for these stupid things is not equivalent to the reward provided. I would venture a guess there are at least a dozen FCs that could snatch up a small plot of land, but they don't, either to wait for a larger plot, or because they're against these laughable prices on principle.
I'm morbidly curious about who will take the first large plot of land, however.
