Pretty simple, whoever was most helpful and did their job accordingly (tank who tanked well, healer who kept people alive during any crisis, dps knowing when to aoe and when not to, etc) Also anyone who explained the strats for each fight to the new folks.

Owning your mistakes is the biggest deal for me. I will commend people even if they cause wipes, as long as they apologize afterward and make a sincere effort to improve.

If the run goes completely smoothly and no one makes any mistakes, I give it to the tank. Tanks that can go through an entire run without making any mistakes are actually extremely rare, and deserve it.

If mistakes are made and no one but me apologizes for theirs, I give it to whichever DD I like better - and sadly, most of my commendations are in this bunch.
