SLI isnt working for me!! Only in Surround though?

I checked it out, it is "similar" to the one I came across but unfortunately a dud with nvidia. They no longer allow the alteration of SLI mode without aftermarket software (which I also tried anyhow and didn't work) and I thought for sure that would do it lol.

I did just finish a fresh install of windows 8 instead of 8.1 and guess what? Works just fine. With no overclock I get 10500 at 4680x2560 on maximum as opposed to being overclocked to the gills and getting 4100 with the same on windows 8.1.

I'm not sure what they changed with what amounts to a "service pack" but I'm quite disappointed I have to downgrade to play only to upgrade again to check if it's fixed periodically.

Frustrating!!

(I did notice the individual in the post you referenced was using windows 7 though that's what the largest pain is, finding someone with an identical setup AND OS, to compare.)

I have wasted enough time so I am going to go ahead with windows 8, however I won't be satisfied until I am back on 8.1 with it working. Can anyone tell me what day Square does it's weekly patches/maintenance so I can Atleast minimize downtime on attempts to check if it's working? Once I start playing we all know how that goes

Wanna hear weird? This is for someone with programming/coding/softwareengineer level tech experience...

So my prior conundrum still stands ie: works in windows 8 doesn't work in 8.1, no idea what they changed or why.. but I really hate having to use an old OS just to play the game. Get w/ the program whoever/whatever is causing this issue!

Anyways, if I install windows 8.1, it will work the first time (SLI) and then if I run it again.. nothing. Like clockwork, a reformat of windows 8.1 and it will run the first time properly and then no SLI. WTH?!?!

FTR and for anyone who comes across this with a similar issue... after working w/ the guys at NVidia - they were able to reproduce it in the lab. They are now working on a fix. MUCH time wasted in denying the problem and/or assuming it was on the customers end BUT hats off to Josh at Nvidia for giving me the benefit of the doubt. He worked with me to confirm I did put my legwork in and wasn't crazy/ignorant (god knows they likely get MANY such cases. Anyhow its now out of my hands.
