Square is simply trying to make players use content that most ignore or -surprise- don't even know about. I for one like how they make note of what players do and don't do and even tie it into the lore - the great Goobbue wall from 1.0, the fact that players simply crowd around Rowena, etc. And make you explore other, forgotten content.

Remember - They COULD have made you do all the guildhests up to the lv. 50 ones for your "Appropriate for level 50 content," but they stopped you at 30.

I would have done guildhests if they unlocked as I leveled, but they force you to do the ones that are supposed to teach you how to play in an mmo which is something I've been doing, so I was not interested. You should be allowed to skip the tutorial IMO.
