WHM the choice of 1 Handed/Shelds is ridicoulus

Judging by the Database (i hope this is fully correct) the highest 1 handed weapon
is iLvl 75 and Shield is the crafted 70 one.

First of all, if im not totally retarted now, where did the iLvl 90 shield go from coil? seems like it disappeared. iLvl 70 is ridicoulus compared to the BLM's that get a iLvl 95 1 handed weapon AND a iLvl 90 shield.
Before the patch i had high hopes some new stuff will be added so i dont have to run around with garuda weapon/WP Shield forever but i guess ill just be screwed untill (maybe never) the next big Patch comes with new equipment.

Why do we get the choice to use 2 different categories of weapons if we are forced to one on them in endgame anyway? Not even the pvp gear offers a shield

I have played healer in so many games now, in every i used a 1 handed weapon and shield and that wont change with this game. Guess its time to farm my Primal iLvl 75 weapon and craft the crappy shield then...

For paladins and black mages the highest main hand is ilvl 95 and the highest level offhand is ilvl 90. SE clearly has a blind spot when it comes to shields. I'm kind of surprised one handed mage weapons are even a thing anymore, seems like they'd be better used if re-purposed for new classes.

I wont get relic because if you havent been able to read it from my post: I dont play for min/max crap. I want my character to look good and if it means i have to run around with a shitty weapon and shield then be it. *shivers at the look of how they fight with 2 handed staves*
Maybe in the future SE will fulfill the wish of this 1 WHM that wants to use a shield T.T

And i still think the fact they took out the iLvl 90 shield from the game is ridicoulus. Could have lived easier with the fact only 1 of the 2 equipments being low lvl

Because 1-handed weapons are trash without a good shield? It's fine if you want to play for looks but there is no reason for WHM to get an i95 1-handed weapon, i90 shield AND i95 2-handed staff. That's just foolishness. Even BLM having 1-handed knife stick is silly.

I never asked to be able to have both a 1 handed AND 2 handed iLvl 95.

BLM got 1 handed 95/90 shield and 2 handed 90.
Why doesnt WHM get 1 handed 90/90 shield and 2 handed 95? would be totally even then.
im not even asking for that much 80/80 would be fine enough XP but 70/75 is really pittyful.
There are so many games where you can choose as Healer. 1Hand+Shield for more defense or 2Hand for more attack power/healpower.
If you are forced to use something why dont just take away the other option completly because then its NOT an option.

And if you dont like 1 Handed as BLM (wow your like me just the opposite) you can just use iLvl 90 2 Handed. Your "loss" isnt big while mine is.

In many RPG games, be it online or offline, if there's a cleric-esque class that's almost always my first choice, usually wearing chain mail, welding 1h weapon + a shield, battle mage/healer+buffer type.
I have the impression that in FF, WHM goes with 2H Staff, but really wish to have a bit of 1h+shield variety

Your contradicting yourself; you dont care about min/maxing, but your complaining there are not any better 1h/shields. If you don't care then it shouldn't matter.

What would be the point of, lets say, a 95 shield dropping off of Twintania? Clearly, you would never see it regardless.

I have a serious question: is WHM the only class that you're willing to play? You've self-imposed a restriction that your character must carry a 1-handed weapon and a shield and you also have done the research and found that a BLM can carry a pretty powerful 1-handed weapon and shield, so... if the most important thing to you is to be able to run around the game carrying a 1-handed weapon and a shield, then might I suggest the possibility of playing as a BLM?

If you are really set on playing as a WHM, then you're out of luck. For example, I think the Bohemian outfit from the Lightning Event looks really cool, but I'm not going to wear it while I'm tanking. Likewise, you could carry around a 1-handed weapon/shield when you're running around and doing easier dungeons, but if you're running Coil, you could switch to a more powerful weapon.

of course you are partially right and i knew that would come sooner or later. i dont care because i know that even if i have to go through some harassment and stuff i still will be able to play all the content the game offers me.
what i dont care about is the fact that its unfair that another class gets the choice while mine doesnt and that is what bothers me the most.
as i said in a previous post. why make an option when the option isnt actually an option?
i didnt really understand the last part of your post with the 95 shield sorry.
+ it would be alot more fun if the game offered you more kind of builds instead of everyone being exactly the same

unfortunately mage dps is the most boring class in my opinion. and no its not why i play the game. i always been a healer and i love my job no matter what
