    PLD PvP

Haven't seen to much on the forums about this topic, how are PLD's looking in PvP? And how are we stacking up next to WAR/MRD?

PLD is good, you can pretty much lock down an opponent with shield bash until they begin resisting.

I normally harass the enemy healer with shield bash and spirits within while the rest of my party take down their group. PLD's are good at locking down the enemy healer.

purify off the first stun the stun drs hard. Paladin is fine in pvp, however warrior is definitely better.

As a PLD and WHM i approve of this message ^

That being said there are some issues with paladin atm. Our issue is that we're not a DPS that can tank but rather a tank that doesn't have DPS moves and regen or sch can counter that source of damage easily if geared properly.

The other thing is that casters are now sprinting circles around poles, jumping (this interrupts actions if done sporadically), and miasma/stone1 and shield lob will eat TP trying to keep up with them and sprinting to stay on their tail with slow auto attacks.

There are a lot of short comings, but maybe if they adjust the stun resist rate: 6/3/1/1/1/1/0/0/reset it wouldn't make us so limited and become an threat as opposed to the last guy standing or healer troll.

PLD is strong in PVP but needs to be played smart.
Get full swing so your dd mates can explode targets faster.
Oh and bring mercy stroke wity you!
If you got gear for it, try GLD. I didnt play much with it but im sure there are nice cross class skills you cant get on PLD.

The dps of a PLD is perfectly fine, eventually it lacks spike dmg and cant obliterate things like WAR, but PLD can put a lot of pressure on his target.
Forget about tanking and VIT accessories, you arent tanking and you arent a target.
    Full STR for pvp.

Please after your party is dead, dont run circles, stand there and die like a man

I've killed solo killed so many PLDs+1 DPS at a disadvantage so many times I'm sort of tired of the commendations showered on me =P. If you want to play PLD right first learn to CC, don't start stunning until your team is at the spot ready to lay down the punishment.

I play warrior, so my outlook on Paladins in PvP is limited to going against them.

In my experience Warriors and Paladins do different things. Warrior are there more to help your dps (Storm's Eye debuff and Holmgang), while Paladins are there to lock someone down and basically annoy the crap out of them.

A Pally is more likely to stick on either their own healer and try to peel dps, or stick on the enemy healer to try and make their life more difficult while their own dps burst someone down. Warriors are more likely to rush the enemy focus (be it the healer or caster DPS) and help lock and burst it down

What you should be doing is locking down their tank if they go for your healer. Your dps can kill their healer; what you need to be doing is protecting yours. In this, the PLD has the advantage because of the ability to stun and buy your healer time to break free of the constant interruptions.

Any recommended cross-class PvP abilities for PLD?
