I'm willing to accept a wizard/dragon did it for the huge differences between the two places. What I can't forgive, however, is that the stone is wrong! In ARR the stone has Menphina's symbol and not Halone's!

The Fury's Gaze was originally in the Western Highlands, yeah, I can accept that it's in the Central Highlands now. However Menphina's stone (at Gwyn-Aep) was in the Eastern Highlands. How? What? Wizards?

Retconning I guess - a number of the Deity Stones are now in different locations from where they were in 1.0.

As some of the original locations are no longer accessible/no longer exist, I guess SE decided to switch locations around for them just to have all of them accessible from the start, as only 1.0 players would actually notice the difference (lets face it, 1.0 players are a drop in the ocean in FFXIV's current population).

While I don't disagree, this is a pretty big retcon. The name implies (The Fury's Gaze) that it should be related to Halone, the Fury and not Menphina, the Lover. Something like Byregot and Athlyk by Tranquil since the Northeast Shroud / West Shroud are no more makes sense to me (as does the northward shift of Thaliak) but this one I just can't rationalize. We're still one Twelve stone short (we're missing Halone, though I guess it should be Menphina)

I hate to bump my own thread but Menphina and Halone's symbols were swapped (I found Menphina's during the DRG questline which was erroneously Halone's).

Anyways, I'm happy to say as of 2.1 this has been fixed and I have no idea why it makes me so happy lol
