    To say you have to memorize the fight to get ahead of the lag is something I'm sure many people don't want to have to pay for in the long run. Paying a subscription to choreograph a fight should of been in the disclaimer lol. Point being the emphasis should be more towards the boss not the latency issue(s). Don't get mad at the Peter Griffins of FF14 when they're at least trying...

    I have been monitoring my ping and packet loss very closely using an ongoing resource monitor built into windows 7. I have isolated the ip address that the game servers are using at the time I am logged in and watching it. Never does it go above 80ms and never does it go above 0%packet loss. Still I see random freezes that just don't happen on other games. Sure I would love to blame isp or my machine but I cannot find any of those to be the fault. Can someone explain how I can have such a perfect connection and still freeze up from time to time?

    Coming from Guam, and using WTFast, my latency is around 220ms. So far now I can get through all the way to Garuda HM and the Labryrinth. But I don't know about Titan HM. I wonder if there is a brickwall I won't get past. Its starting to be that way for me.

    My last MMO, Age of Wushu, has servers in the US West Coast, and I can get 150ms. I have no idea why SE puts their servers in Toronto. I also play Mechwarrior Online which has servers in Toronto but at least hit registration is client side on that game.

    I have cleared every end game content, never got carried, never was the "weak link" with 400 ping that goes down to 300-320 with WTFast. Don't let it stop you or discourage you, you will be fine.

    Because he likes it? Saying this or that game has some good features doesn't mean the whole game is appealing. Saying there is something wrong with this or that game doesn't mean the whole game is worthless.

    This is bad advice. We should not be altering our gameplay to make up for terrible latency/game design. I /facepalm every time I see someone say that you need to memorize the fights and start moving BEFORE the AOE goes off. We shouldn't even need the red circles on the ground. As the monster raises his hammer way up in the air and emotes IT'S HAMMER TIME you know that you need to get away before the hammer hits the ground. In this stupid version of said events he would raise his hammer up and a circle would appear on the ground. I have to move out of the circle asap THEN he starts his swing and the hammer comes down. I could have moved out of the circle and then back into the aoe area when the hammer hits and yet I take no damage. What kind of idiot came up with this nonsense? Seriously. It's some of the worst game design I've ever seen.

    They addressed lobby congestion issue! The implementation of AoE is the same. Yoshida tells how difficult it is to deal with multiple ISP providers - nice try!
    ffxivboot.exe establishes connection to Akamai Technology CDN - one of the best.
    Then ffxiv.exe connects to the data server of your choice: in New England it is Montreal that is on level3 CND. My ping is 39-45ms.
    3x45ms = 135ms: dodging is a 3 step process: plum shows, I react, server responds.
    My speed numbers: 50Mbs/37Mbs. I get hit every time in Titan unless I am on the edge of the plum and escape in a split of a second!
    I can only imagine how gamers whose single ping is 250ms feel!
    To those who complained the game is too easy: Congratulations! you've got everything "hard" mode :-) Enjoy!

    I agree with you but sadly, for now, it's either this or don't complete content at all.

    I've tolerated Titan HM and Ultima but now I'm faced with Titan EM... I either put up with all that bs and frustration again, memorize the whole fight and still run the risk of getting screwed by spikes, buy a win or get stuck without seeing my beloved Ifrit in his extreme glory... I'm getting tired!

    I really hope Leviathan won't be like this.
