I wonder if auto attacks also means going back and placing a "speed" timer on each individual weapon too, because I would imagine an axe wouldn't swing as fast as a dagger say.


The autoattack alone would make them redesign the battle system from nearly scratch.
The Dmg equation has to be changed (if they are doing anything like XI's system), tp forumla has to be changed, they have to remove the stamina bar so something else has to limit things so rebalancing of all the traits and abilities. the weapons have to all be changed with delays and what not, animation might have to be altered to make it not look awkward.
I see that 1 simple change probally being a mountainous amount of work.
Simple making your character attack nonstop would not work at all with the current structure of the battle system.

Who said they have been working on the new Battle system for 6 months?? when was the players poll

They must be taking turns to do development by pulling sticks and seeing who ends up with the short one. Then that person gets punished and has to develop something for us.

I think nobody in this thread, on either side of the argument, really knows what they are talking about. Unless you are a game developer who has personally had to redesign a battle system in your game after launch you don't know one way or the other. You can speculate all day long, but you simply don't know.



Fail developers need to get sacked.
But when you see the affect of other developers being able to do it, even rehauling the entire game faster than SE can do 1 part, then you do know.
