    Why are they soo slow?!

    Okay, there seems to be a lot of people who think that the updates are coming slow, and that the team should speed things up. Well lets start with this; The team is currently working on our Battle System, the battle system is one of the most important features in an MMO (Who knew that killing mobs was part of an MMO?) Anyhoo, the battle system is like the backbone of a MMO. What happens is that when we get a bad battle system, like the one we currently have, and they have to replace it, means, that we need to start a new one from scratch!

    Hokay, so they start making the new battle system, they have a lot of things they need to work on. These include; New math, which this one involves AA, which needs Haste, weapon delay, and all that other jazz into it. Then they have to infinitely change the system to apply for each character, mob, how abilities work, how damage is spread, how healing is done, etc.

    That being said, they pretty much had to do what takes normally a year or so to implement, into a 6-7 month period. So this means they have to pt a majority of their manpower and resources into the battle system to get it working correctly so it can be implemented into the game. Also, all content is normally based around the battle system, so, once the battle system is in place, providing more content and other goodies that we want will come more frequently.

    By no means are they starting from "scratch".

    I don't see why it would take too long to implement auto attack... I know it would take years for me to do it but come on these are payed professionals that have been doing these things for most of their adult lives.

    The autoattack alone would make them redesign the battle system from nearly scratch.

    The Dmg equation has to be changed (if they are doing anything like XI's system), tp forumla has to be changed, they have to remove the stamina bar so something else has to limit things so rebalancing of all the traits and abilities. the weapons have to all be changed with delays and what not, animation might have to be altered to make it not look awkward.

    I see that 1 simple change probally being a mountainous amount of work.

    Simple making your character attack nonstop would not work at all with the current structure of the battle system.

    Yeah but they are bad at it, look at what we are working with 9 months into retail.

    I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!

    The animations have to be changed
    Rendering has to be redone
    The base code cannot be implemented unless tiresome editing is done....

    Attack animations, spell animations, character animation all will stay.

    Rendering is built into the engine so no... it does not have to be redone.

    The base code will be tweaked and new equations will be implemented but the base code dose not have to be changed.

    Is it a tough job... sure, but not a year project.

    there doing overhaul, why do u and everyone here think this can be done over night and not just adding auto attack there a lot being fixed and added this is why I got so pissed when se stated they were making a new mmo at a time when fixing another because most dont gasp that it would take them years make new one alot here think this crap can be done over night.

    at no point did i even hint that it should be done over night, but then again maybe in this world you live in 2-3 months is over night O.o

    We are all working with limited information on what is at SE disposal for this over haul, all i am stating is that they are not starting from scratch.

    Edit: I would rather the battle over haul be later rather then sooner for the record books, however it should not take a year... that's preposterous.
