Can't progress in relic weapon quest.

I'm at the hydra part of my relic weapon. At one point I accidentally entered the fight by myself. I promptly died and though I didn't know it at the time the quest was stuck. I proceeded to get a hydra group beat hydra and then noticed the little lala at the front had a red quest marker. I went to the blacksmith and nothing happened. Now I'm stuck. I did beat the hydra with my unfinished bow. I don't know what's wrong. Please help

You have to unequip your unfinished weapon and then talk with the guy.

Yup did that then I equip it and it's still locked
