HQ items won't auto-stack on full retainer

When I trade items to my full retainer that he already possesses (thus adding to those stacks), NQ items can be traded, but HQ items cannot be.

Time: 17:00 EST
Frequency: Always
World name: Gilgamesh
Character name: Lineage Razor
NPC name: Zoldof (retainer)
Monster name: N/A
Class/Level: FSH 50
Party or solo: Solo
In-game time: Unknown
Area and coordinates: Gridania inn room

Steps:
1. Retainer is full of items (175/175)
2. Give NQ items to the retainer that the retainer already has.
3. The items are added to the stack.
4. Give HQ items to the retainer that the retainer already has.
5. An error message occurs stating that the retainer’s inventory is full.
6. Repeat as desired with additional NQ or HQ items. NQ will be accepted, HQ will be denied.
