I always say "Hey. " at the start of a dungeon, respond to whatever questions I get and laugh at funny jokes anyone makes in a dungeon. Now that 2.1 comes along I've been accused of being a suck-up because I've been doing this since I started.

Though, I do hate when someone asks/tells you to commend them. Was leveling my healer with 2 FC mates and some ilvl70 PLD came in and demanded we commend him after each boss and when we told him we were in a party he pulled mobs, called us noobs and left. xD Luckily tanks aren't necessary in low level dungeons, we finished without him...

I think you're just being too cynical by assuming everyone who's nice is just sucking up. Not to mention if you think saying hello at the start of a dungeon is people acting nice, you must not be very nice yourself. What's so wrong about saying hello at the start? There's usually plenty of time because there's usually always 1 person who isn't trying to skip the cutscene as quickly as possible.

There's also the fact that TRYING to gain commendations just seems stupid to me. If you're good, you'll get them. Unless you're DPS, then you better save the day otherwise you aren't getting any...
