Upgrading to (non-digital) Collector's Edition

Hello. I apologize in advance if this has been posted before. I've been all over the Moogle Station since launch, and I've waited until things calmed down a bit as far as maintenance and server stress went.

Basically, I've been playing since the start of 1.0 with a non-CE account. I pre-ordered the physical copy of the Collector's Edition to 2.0 (because I like awesome novelties. >_>), but I'm having a hard time upgrading my account without having to re-buy a digital Collector's Edition. I have the registration code, but it won't accept it. I'd like to have my CE items.

Is there any way to do this without having to open up a ticket? I can't be the only one with this problem. :/

EDIT: Also, I've been told that, in order to get this done, I would have to start a new service account and just have a rep merge the two, but it seems like a lot of trouble for such an easy fix...
