I mean, is it that hard to ask for a second chance?

This isn't high school, SE is a business. They don't need to cater to you. If he stole a bunch of TVs from best buy then returned them untouched, he'd still be arrested and banned from BB for life. What he did doesn't absolve him from the his actions.

I honestly have never heard of a company giving someone who does an exploit like this a second chance. And honestly, I wouldn't want SE to do it, too. That exploit helped cause stuff like the stupid housing prices to get rid of all the inflated gil from people who weren't caught. You are his friend, but SE isn't, we aren't. I see a guy who did a massive exploit, I don't want that player back and I can't imagine what planet SE would have to be on to let him back either.

So then, he should of kept quiet, never told anyone of the giant exploit, and let RMTs and other ill intent people to hack as they please, and still get banned? There are companies out there that actually pay you if you find a hole in their game. All he did was mess with console, which is avalible to anyone who plays, found a hole in there that let him spawn money, and he reported it. Why should he get punished for something that would greatly help Square Enix by not over inflating the gil economy even more than what it is now? I bet you anything that the hole, before he found it, has let others who know their stuff on this spawn millions and millions of gil to sell/ trade.

He didn't steal anything. He didn't distribute anything. He didn't sell the gil, he didn't do anything at all with it but obey the Senior GM's wishes of stuffing it all in a retainer so the Dev team can investigate his character data.

If he did, i wouldn't be here risking my account to get his unbanned now would i? I'd kindly be yelling at him for using any of it. hell, i already yelled at him for the hacking and we both well knew he could be banned on the spot. But he wasn't.

The problem here is, he was caught in an automated ban, he wasn't banned cause of the hacking! As i said, i wouldn't have made this thread if we knew he was banned for the hacking it's self, on the same day he reported it. He can't hide anything cause SE can see everything he has done in his account. So as far as we know, he wasn't banned for the hacking. If we can actually get a superior, or even Jhanaka that can contact him and talk this over to exactly know why he was banned, if it's either a, yes you were banned for hacking, or a, you were caught in the sweep like hundreds of others that had over a certain amount and can be unbanned with the condition of every bit of gil deleted from the character, i'd be one hell of a happy woman.

We are left in the unknown. The reason for the ban, "RMT activities", is a pure lie, and we want this sorted :/ We just.. Want to speak to a superior on the issue.. He does.. Even if he does or does not get unbanned. Square Enix not replying is only making themselves look bad :/ I don't see what the problem is in contacting him to sort this out, good or bad.

He shouldn't have messed with the console in the first place. I dunno if you ever played FFXI at all, but there was a dude that was a massive exploiter there who started off with "harmless activities" (hacked into the gm server, etc.), but then hacked people's accounts and transferred all of them to a particular server. I can imagine they want to avoid that happening in ff14.

No, i never played any of the FF mmos, this is his, and my first.

That's.. Dear lord, no D: Did he not report any of his findings and how he did it to SE? Doesn't seem so.. In the month were were playing after he reported it, he did nothing else. And i'm positive SE can prove it looking into his logs or something D:! If they do give him a second chance, and he every does anything of the sort ever again, then go ahead and ban me as well :/ I know very well the risks, and i'm 100% sure he won't mess with anything else in the game that shouldn't be messed with.

See, i think of it like this. If there aren't people to hack the system, and report it, SE won't do anything about it, and those with ill intent, will keep doing it without being noticed. it's like arresting a man who help bring a baddie to custody because he stuck his nose into a police area, or something. It's not right.. Neither is it right that botters can keep teleporting everywhere for weeks, mining and killing things for weeks without human interaction, stuffing their shards or what not in the market, flooding it, without any justice taken. I don't even know how many of those I've seen and reported while i played, to many to count >.< Are they still running wild, or has something been done about botters?

He exploited the system yes, but immediately reported it, and a few days later, got in contact with Jhanaka. But meh, they can just put a big ole note on his account then, if banned again, permanently banned, or something, i don't know ):!

Just. I'm not going to give up on this, i don't care if it gets me banned to, i will not give up, until he gets better helped or better answered than just "RMT activities, permanently banned" type answers.

I apologize if i'm coming on rude or pushy or anything of the sort, i just hope you guys understand how frustrated we are, and not for the reason you may think it's for (the hacking). It's.. Very frustrating, and even heart breaking. :/

Not really sure what you expect. If you try something you found on ownedcore you are gonna have a bad time.

No one has mentioned anything about trying or using anything from "ownedcore?". You should read into a post more carefully before jumping to conclusions.

I am Senior Game Master Jhanaka and I am a Supervisor of In Game Support for FINAL FANTASY XI and FINAL FANTASY XIV. I am very sorry for the delay in replying to this thread but the matter was just brought to my attention.

Regretfully, I am unable to make many comments about this matter as we have a strict customer privacy policy which prohibits us from discussion actions that may/may not have been taken on account. With that said, though, I will be happy to review the matter in more detail to ensure all of our policies were followed and have the proper departments look into the case history.

Mrs Madam >> Thank you for standing by your friend and creating this thread to bring the matter to our attention. Please let Mister Sirs know the matter will be investigated. I will go ahead and leave this thread open, but I cannot promise I can make may more posts due to the nature of this review but I truly appreciate the efforts you have put forth to ensure the proper actions were taken for this particular case.

Wow... I've read every reply to this post because I thought the situation was very interesting, and so it almost made my eyes water when I read what the GM said. I'm happy to hear that the situation is being investigated! THAT is an example of good customer service, especially since the SAME GM responded, which amazed me; someone must have seen this post and forwarded it to him immediately.

As I said before, I would gladly do the FATEs to get you some holiday items, but I noticed you're on a different world than I am, so I don't know how I'd send them to you. I don't know that he would un-ban Mister Sirs before December 31st... Are you currently subscribed to FFXIV and playing?

Currently no, my account isn't active since it's not the same playing without Mister Sirs/ canceled it when we found out he was banned. Though i will activate it in a heart beat if the investigation proves to be in his favor! Can't have my hopes completely up yet since i don't know if he will or will not be unbanned, but fingers crossed!

Ohhh.. are the fates simple like how the fire festival one was? I totally missed the lightning fate ;.;

Yeah, they are pretty quick. The Lightning event is coming back in February to celebrate the release of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, so you will get another chance. I missed parts 2, 3 and 4 (I think there were 4 total?) of the Lightning Event due to Finals Week at my University, but I'm glad to be able to get another chance, myself, in a couple months! So don't worry!
