Do we know of any benifits of housing currently?

I know this is likely to turn into a bunch of people going "E-peen!!!!" or "Who cares prices are ridiculous" like most topics have been, but I'm going to attempt to get a serious reply anyway.


I've been wondering a lot about any actual benefits of housing, now that a few houses have been bought here and there, I'd like to know if anyone with one has any info on any current benefits to having one. A guild mate mentioned that it would let you have a second FC buff active (IE reduced rates and increased mark obtain rate at the same time), another mentioned you get small bonuses (like EXP) for having certain things in one.


Do we have any confirmation at all as to if they provide any current bonuses?

The 2nd fc buff is from the last fc level, not housing.

This total blackout silence from SE in regards of the housing fisaco is pathetic. How can they even expected anyone to spend hundreds of millions on something without providing a single spec??

I am a housing owner and can report to you there are NO extra benifits other than it looks pretty. If no one has a small on your server or bigger than it can be interesting to get one and have alot of people come by it all the time... if there is already... just go visit theirs and save your money. A medium / large gives nothing but more space than a small... thats it. period.. gg SE... so for now save your money and wait for a complete housing revamp due to this utter failure.

I have wondered about benefits to the housing myself. I also play Aion and wondered if the housing here would be similar, because it seems to be influenced in part by player housing in Aion. It looks like just the facade of housing is all that is being utilized. Even though owning a house in Aion does require weekly maintenance costs, those are usually easy made. You do get many benefits with player housing in Aion that I would love to see in FF14. A normal small house you get a benefit of rested cool down bonus. Mansions on up give you a greater xp bonus, plus no death sickness, and Estates and Palaces give you a crafting bonus. On top of that you have a co-op system of plants, crops and ore you can put outside, or some inside that friends can help you "water" to get the items from those quicker. I would think S/E would at least give us a good reason to save and spend most of our gil, we would normally need for more important items.
