According to Yoshi-P if given a choice between the two options...

    Option #1
Waiting a few weeks for additional hardware to support the load of people buying the FC houses. That's if the wealthy players actually do go for the land rush or tons of people over load the servers buying housing.

Option #2 Which Yoshi and the Devs decided on.
Waiting 3 or more month to be able to afford one.

What would people choose? I think it's a no-brainer, but that's just me.

Option #3 limit the number of FC houses per FC to 1, there are less FC's on Durandal (of 11 or more members) than there are available housing plots, limit it to 1 and guess what, there is enough plots for FC's with more than 11 players to own one! Amazing that.

#1 is actually a lie, they simply wanted the legacy servers to buy the property to remove the gilz, and so far only 1 (small) property has been bought on Durandal, it's really nice to know that 99% of the monthly subscription fee to pay for the hardware to support the servers is all being used by 1 guild on Durandal.

Oh, we pay SE roughly $7-10m a month for them to have the hardware required, even if 50% of that went on overheads that still leaves up to $5m a month for them to have the hardware in place, maybe they are using it to prop up their JP only MMO, DQ Online?

I'm a fan of Option 3. In fact, it should of been the first thing they thought of. Allowing a person to own multiple houses when they are a limited resource is.... counter-intuitive at best.

Option 1 is a blatent cop-out. Option 2 means that only large or wealthy guilds will be able to buy a house after three months of them scraping together every penny. IMHO, housing as it sits right now is, and never will be worth the initial investment cost. A guild would be better served by investing their gil into controlling the market.

Option 4: Vote with your wallet and leave the game - let them know you're unhappy. Simple as that.

Once you leave, you're far less likely to come back and that really only makes it so development is slower since they have less pay :V.

I think they've gotten by now that people are pretty unhappy with the prices. Yoshi already made a reply talking about reducing higher price server's cost down and mentioned that house prices will still be changeable over time. Just give them more then a week to sort through info.

I'll be surprised if we don't see Yoshi talk about changes coming to it in Jan.

Housing is not priced expensively because they want to remove gil. It was priced expensively to prevent a majority of FCs from bumrushing the new areas, filling the new hardware to capacity, and potentially causing problems with stability or delay.

This is what was implied by the first post. These options existed only because the root cause, the real reason behind the outrageous pricing was because they lacked the capacity to do so.

They were priced high because every server had multiple players with excessive amounts of gil they were worried were going to buy out all of the plots. We just got screwed over because some players had way too much money and we have to wait out the timer for acceptable pricing.

My only question is if after all the disappointment that accompanied the price announcements (instead of the celebration it was supposed to be) people will still care about housing when (if) they make it affordable.

Personally I don't care anymore, and not really sure if I'll be still playing when individual housing is added. But talk about housing (prices or otherwise) seems to be slowing down considerably both in game and in the forums. Before at least people had the energy to complain about it, but now it's more of a "meh, whatever" kind of situation.
