and what is properly penta melded saurian boots? What materia should be on them?

You want to add 21 crit, 4 determination and up to 9 skill speed. The skillspeed wont make or break them, but definatly helps overall.

Due to costs of savage aim 3s on my server I Just bought 2 savage aim 4s for the guaranteed slots, then squeezed in quickarm 4 in the 3rd slot, followed by savage might 3 and topped it of with a savage aim 2.

Just expect to blow up a lot on the 4th and 5th slots. The same can be achieved with 1 savage aim 4, 1 quickarm4, 2 savage aim 3s and 1 savage might 3. But if the quickarm 4s are significantly cheaper than a pile of sa3s or sm3s, it'll probably save you a ton of money only needing a tier 2 materia for that last slot.

You can't meld any more accuracy onto the Saurian boots. The 21 accuracy that is on them prior to melding is the maximum total — you can meld 21 crit onto them because there is no crit on the boots without melds, but you can't go over 21. So Hybris is correct, you'll want to meld 21 crit, 4 determination, and up to 9 skill speed. I personally melded Quickarm 3 (+6 skspd) in my last slot because I didn't want to blow loads of gold on the fifth meld slot for 3 skill speed.

HQ is already capped on accuracy. You shouldn't pentameld anything other than an HQ.

Edit: Also make sure to put the tier 3 and 4 materias on on your wish list and check the prices over a few days before you meld as well. Within 8 hours of melding my Headpiece, acc4 materia jumped 50k apiece and savage aim 4 dropped 40. Totally worth it to camp the market for a few days to get some good deals.

I'm on T6 but i doubt we will get it down anytime soon much less see the boots drop....

I just went with the soldiery boots for now as Saurian unless you can craft yourself are expensive

havnt read through this but for my set up on bard i have everything penta melded except body, as that IS better in i100, i also out stat a lot of bards in soldiery gear in det and crit, think im on 282 det and 540 crit, but i have bard body and ears in soldery to get, and also using an i70 ring not i90, so not finished my stats yet

i used the same set of melds. screw +3SS .

happy with the boots so far. the best thing i've crafted/melded. its so rewarding. now i can use myth pants instead of t5 allagan pants. i have 0 accuracy issues in t8 with the right food. ^^

Your problem will come when you have Rosenbogen + Auroral Tabard + High Allagan Pants

animus and high allagan pants looks like a good pair!

im not even sure Rosenbogen is necessary unless you have more high allagan gear like t7 mask and t8 ring.
