    Hi, my first forums post and i had to create an account just so i can comment on this!

    Ranked 14 with the little time i had to play but as a dragoon in pvp i must say that i know the pain most melee players are going through.

    From what i notice when a person begins to kite and starts jumping the character will lose the circle indicating their position underneath them. Anytime that happens and i hit any melee action my character will just start looking funny trying to perform attacks with nothing registering. Its even more bad when im trying to perform a jump... D:

    Only way to counter this as a melee is to really time your attacks or waste stuns but then DR happens and yeah gg. Fix and let them keep jumping. thanks!

    Sigh, I've run with a lot of Melee and never once have they even thought this was a issue. Sounds like you're just trying to make excuses for being out played by another.
    Or they might just have a shit connection!

    Either way I really don't think that running at the same speed as your target and not being able to hit them despite the fact that the server is telling you that you can hit them has anything to do with being outplayed.

    I was mentioning this to some people I met in game the other day. People keep finding new ways to get an edge in PvP. This time, it happens that jumping in PvP causes the positional checks to desync on other players screens, at times. It's been a big concern of mine for several days now, along with the casting bars not appearing until the spellcast is almost finished. Casters, both healer and DPS alike, have plenty of skills at their disposal, they shouldn't feel the need to exploit the games mechanics. That's just poor sportsmanship.

    A simple fix would be to just block jumping in PvP. It serves no purpose, other than to cause problems with position checks. There are no obstacles that need jumping over.

    I hate jumping with a passion.. but it forces you to time your moves instead of spamming it. Everyone knows this truly wasn't intended... but then again it's not like yoshi didn't run into jumpers in other games... then again they failed to test simple stuff.

    My prediction: SE will keep war amazingly devastating in PvP so later down the line you must do lolPvE to get PvP stuff... and that will fix the 'lack of tank' issues. /pets cat.

    This doesn't just affect melees who chase. It affects just about everyone no matter how close the target is.

    I was chasing a bard as a monk, and my summoner friend was assisting. My melee animations got cancelled every time he jumped. The SMN was getting "spell interrupted" every time as well. He wasn't getting hit either. Nor LoSed or too far.

    This is a full blown exploit and I encourage every one of you to take the time to report all of these cases.

    jmping in pvp happens in all MMO's, but one thing is playing with good latency and the only thing happening being him jumping, the other is playing with bad latency because the servers are on the other side of the world and giving out of range messages, jumping in other mmo's never gave me any issues with hitting targets, only made other players look silly to me..

    There are times when it's worse for casters actually because it eats up Surecast. I've taken to just casting Freeze instead of Sleep in these cases. Bards are the worst but TBH I don't think most of them even realize what they are doing.

    I've also had this ruin games because someone on MY team is hopping around. I round a corner and hit Aetherial Manipulation only to have my character start spazzing out in place. I have a macro set up to use it on my target. If that fails it tries all the party members so it will work as long as someone is in range. I've had times where my entire team is in range and within LoS but the ability won't fire until I manually target someone else. The game realizes they are in range and in LoS but can't figure out where they are so the macro locks up and won't even try the other party members.

    oh the irony

    The irony is killing me here... Version one, people complained that you couldn't jump at all and now in 2.1 its breaking PVP.

    I don't PVP, but can't you just jump as well when you are close to them and attack that way?
